Braves' Dansby Swanson: Dealing with soreness

Swanson, who was scratched from Wednesday's lineup against the Royals, is dealing with unspecified soreness, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

It may just be general soreness for Swanson, and with the Braves having an off day Thursday, this gives him a couple days to rest up. Johan Camargo gets the start at shortstop, hitting seventh.

Braves' Dansby Swanson: Late scratch Wednesday

Swanson was a late scratch from Wednesday's lineup against the Royals.

There has been no word of an injury with Swanson. Johan Camargo slots in at shortstop, hitting seventh.

  • Javier Baez SS | DET

Cubs' Javier Baez: Swipes two bags in loss

Baez went 2-for-6 with a double, two runs scored and two stolen bases in Tuesday's 5-4 extra-innings loss to the Giants.

The 26-year-old only has seven steals in 12 attempts on the year, but at least in this one he looked like a consistent threat on the basepaths. The rest of Baez's numbers are much more palatable, however -- he's slashing .289/.320/.546 with 24 homers, 67 RBI and 69 runs through 99 games.

  • Trea Turner SS | PHI

Nationals' Trea Turner: Hits for cycle

Turner went 4-for-5 with the cycle, including a solo home run, two RBI and two runs in an 11-1 victory against the Rockies on Tuesday.

This was Turner's seventh multi-hit game of July, including his third in his last five contests. Four hits also set a new season high for Turner, who hit his second homer of July. Turner is batting .286 with eight home runs, 25 RBI, 42 runs and 20 steals in 255 at-bats this season.

  • Giants' Brandon Crawford: Starts late rally

Crawford went 2-for-4 with an RBI in Monday's 5-4 win over the Cubs.

Crawford got the Giants' late rally going by driving in Pablo Sandoval in the eighth. The shortstop had been ice-cold for seemingly the entire first half of the season, but his bat has come alive in July (.315/.393/.593 with four homers and 16 RBI this month).

  • Orlando Arcia SS | MIN

Brewers' Orlando Arcia: Retreats to bench

Arcia isn't in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Reds.

Arcia went 0-for-4 during Monday night's loss to Cincinnati in the series opener, so he'll head to the bench for a day off. Tyler Saladino, who has now clubbed a grand slam in back-to-back games, will draw the start at shortstop and hit eighth.

  • Miguel Rojas SS | LAD

Marlins' Miguel Rojas: Still out Tuesday

Rojas (shoulder) isn't in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the White Sox, Andre Fernandez of The Athletic reports.

Rojas was diagnosed with a right shoulder strain Saturday, and he hasn't taken the field since. He'll continue to be considered day-to-day until further notice. Yadiel Rivera draws the start at shortstop and will hit ninth in Rojas' absence.

  • Miguel Rojas SS | LAD

Marlins' Miguel Rojas: Sits again Monday

Rojas (shoulder) remains out of the lineup Monday against the White Sox.

Rojas left Saturday's game against the Dodgers and did not start Sunday's contest, though he did appear off the bench. Yadiel Rivera remains the starter at shortstop in his absence. Rojas is expected to test his shoulder prior to Monday's clash and is hopeful to start a game within the next few days, per Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald.

  • Nick Ahmed SS | TEX

Diamondbacks' Nick Ahmed: Collects two hits in loss

Ahmed went 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in Sunday's 7-4 loss to the Brewers.

Ahmed has been on base regularly since the break, going 10-for-29 along with six walks. That's led to five RBI and five runs scored in nine games. He hasn't been a standout in any one aspect, like last season's 16 home runs, but he has been a modest contributor across the board from the shortstop position. Ahmed is slashing .269/.322/.428 with nine home runs, 44 RBI, six stolen bases and 51 runs scored.

  • Miguel Rojas SS | LAD

Marlins' Miguel Rojas: Absent from Sunday's lineup

Rojas (shoulder) is not in Sunday's lineup against the Dodgers, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.

Rojas exited Saturday's contest early and was diagnosed with a shoulder strain. It's unclear how long the injury will keep him out, though Yadiel Rivera is starting at shortstop and batting eighth in his place.
