Javier Baez SS | DET
Cubs' Javier Baez: Delivers walkoff hit
Baez (heel) delivered a pinch-hit, walkoff RBI single in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Phillies.
Baez was held out of the starting lineup for the second straight day and the team announced he would get a precautionary MRI, so it was a good sign to see the star infielder make a pinch-hit appearance. Even better for the Cubs and fantasy owners, he quickly drilled a game-winning single to right field. It appears that the heel contusion Baez sustained Sunday will not be a major injury, and he could rejoin the starting lineup as soon as Wednesday.

Corey Seager SS | TEX
Dodgers' Corey Seager: Gets two hits, stolen base
Seager went 2-for-5 with an RBI, a run and a stolen base in the Dodgers' 7-3 win over the Rays on Tuesday.
Seager has been struggling at the dish to start the season, but he checked in with a nice day against the Rays that saw him bag a pair of hits and steal his first base of the season. He only has nine steals in 401 career games so that isn't likely to be a recurring theme. The 25-year-old shortstop is still slashing just .235/.321/.373 through 166 at-bats, although this makes three multi-hit performances in his last six games, so perhaps that's a sign he's ready to break out of the early funk.

Javier Baez SS | DET
Cubs' Javier Baez: Set for precautionary MRI
Baez is scheduled to undergo a precautionary MRI on his right heel, Gordon Wittenmyer of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Baez was held out of the lineup for the second straight day Tuesday as he continues to nurse a sore right heel that forced him to exit Sunday's game. Per Bruce Levine of 670TheScore.com, manager Joe Maddon hopes Baez will return to the lineup Wednesday. Addison Russell remains at shortstop in his absence.

Jon Berti 3B | CHC
Marlins' Jon Berti: Lands on injured list
Berti (oblique) was placed on the 10-day injured list with a left oblique strain Tuesday.
The move was made retroactive to Sunday, so Berti will be eligible to return May 29, though it's unclear if he's expected to require more than a minimum-length stay. Austin Dean was recalled in a corresponding move.

Javier Baez SS | DET
Cubs' Javier Baez: Could return Wednesday
Baez (heel) won't start Tuesday against the Phillies but could be back in the lineup Wednesday, Bruce Levine of 670TheScore.com reports.
Baez suffered a heel contusion Sunday against the Nationals and sat out Monday, but he was reportedly available off the bench. Chances are, he will be available in a similar capacity again Tuesday. Addison Russell should continue to fill in at shortstop until Baez is ready to go.

Ruben Tejada SS | BAL
Mets' Ruben Tejada: Assigned to Double-A
Tejada was assigned to Double-A Binghamton on Tuesday, Jon Heyman of MLB Network reports.
Tejada joined the Mets organization on a minor-league deal late in spring training but had yet to make his season debut at any level. With no major-league at-bats since 2017 and a .230/.291/.298 line for Triple-A Norfolk in the Orioles system last season, Tejada is unlikely to be anything other than a last-resort option for the Mets this year.

Nick Ahmed SS | TEX
Diamondbacks' Nick Ahmed: Reaches base three times
Ahmed went 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in Monday's 2-1 loss to the Padres.
Ahmed was the lone player on either team to reach base three times in a game that was a pitching duel between Arizona's Luke Weaver and San Diego's Chris Paddack. He came around to score the Diamondbacks' lone run in the third. It was the 25th run of the season for Ahmed, who ranks third on the team in the category behind Eduardo Escobar and David Peralta.

Brandon Crawford SS | STL
Giants' Brandon Crawford: Provides only offense
Crawford went 2-for-3 with a solo homer in Monday's 4-1 loss to Atlanta.
San Francisco was held to two hits Monday, both off the bat of Brandon Crawford. The former All-Star shortstop has three homers and an unsightly .591 OPS in 173 plate appearances.

Dansby Swanson SS | CHC
Braves' Dansby Swanson: Bows out of starting nine
Swanson isn't starting Monday's game against the Giants.
Swanson has hit safely in each of his last three games, but he'll catch a breather Monday night in the series opener. Johan Camargo gets the nod at shortstop and is batting seventh in Swanson's absence.
