Blue Jays' Bo Bichette: Swats 15th homer
Bichette went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in Saturday's 7-3 loss to the Twins.
Bichette accounted for the Blue Jays' offense with a two-run homer in the fourth inning and an RBI single in the eighth. He's gone 7-for-22 (.318) through five games in August, lifting his season slash line up to .262/.303/.424 with 15 long balls, 59 RBI, 59 runs scored and seven stolen bases through 106 contests.

Oneil Cruz CF | PIT
Pirates' Oneil Cruz: Connects on ninth homer
Cruz went 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Saturday's loss to the Orioles.
Cruz has just 11 hits in 13 games since the All-Star break, but five of them have left the park and he also has 12 RBI over that span. After bouncing around the batting order a bit, Cruz has now hit out of the fifth spot in four straight starts, all against right-handed pitchers.

Andrew Velazquez SS | TEX
Angels' Andrew Velazquez: Absent from Game 2 lineup
Velazquez is not in the lineup for the second game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Mariners.
Velazquez is playing more of late, but he will not start both games of Saturday's twin bill. David Fletcher will get the nod at shortstop in the nightcap.

David Fletcher 2B | ATL
Angels' David Fletcher: Starting in nightcap
Fletcher (foot) is in the lineup for the second game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Mariners.
Fletcher injured his foot when he was struck by a pitch in Thursday's game, and he wound up sitting out Friday's contest and the first game of the twin bill. He is ready to return to action, though, and will play shortstop and hit seventh Saturday night.

Otto Lopez SS | MIA
Blue Jays' Otto Lopez: Added to active roster
Lopez was recalled from Triple-A Buffalo on Saturday.
Lopez had been on the taxi squad and was officially added ahead of Saturday's game, replacing George Springer (elbow) on the roster. While Lopez does not pack a big offensive punch, he can help out all across the diamond, at least until the Blue Jays need to swap him out for a fresh bullpen arm.

Tommy Edman LF | LAD
Cardinals' Tommy Edman: Scratched Saturday
Edman was scratched from the lineup for Saturday's game against the Yankees, John Denton of MLB.com reports.
Nolan Gorman is now at second base for St. Louis, though a reason for the swap was not immediately available. Denton notes that Edman has dealt with a minor hip issue at times this season. Edman played all nine innings in Friday's win over New York.

Brandon Crawford SS | STL
Giants' Brandon Crawford: Activated from injured list
Crawford (knee) was activated from the injured list Saturday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
The Giants' lineup for Saturday is still pending, but Crawford and Joc Pederson (concussion) will likely be in there to face right-hander Adam Oller after both were reinstated to the active roster. Following a resurgent campaign last year, Crawford's numbers have plummeted again in his age-35 season (.215/.297/.332 with five home runs and one stolen base).

Aledmys Diaz 1B | HOU
Astros' Aledmys Diaz: Returns to lineup
Diaz (finger) will bat sixth and play shortstop Saturday against the Guardians.
Diaz missed Friday's game with a sore left ring finger, but the issue was evidently a minor one. He'll return to the lineup to give the slumping Jeremy Pena a rest.
-
Jeremy Pena SS | HOU
Astros' Jeremy Pena: Not starting Saturday
Pena will sit Saturday against Cleveland.
Pena sits after starting nine straight games, a stretch in which he struggled to a .356 OPS while going hitless six times. Aledmys Diaz (finger) will get the start at shortstop.

David Fletcher 2B | ATL
Angels' David Fletcher: Not starting afternoon game
Fletcher (foot) remains on the bench for the first half of Saturday's doubleheader against Seattle.
Previous reports indicated that Fletcher would return from his sore foot Saturday, but that evidently won't be happening until the nightcap. Luis Rengifo will be the second baseman in the afternoon contest.
