Correa will sit as expected Wednesday against the Rangers.

Correa isn't expected to play every day right away after returning from a nearly month-long absence with a back injury. He went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts Tuesday and will rest Wednesday, with Alex Bregman sliding to shortstop and Aledmys Diaz starting at third base.

Rojas and the Marlins agreed to a two-year contract Wednesday, Jon Heyman of MLB Network reports. The terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the contract buys out one year of arbitration, one year of free agency, and includes a team option for a third year.

Rojas has been a steady presence for the Marlins' infield for three years in a row, so the team decided to lock him up at least through the end of the 2021 season. With the new deal in hand, expect Rojas to open the 2020 campaign as the Marlins' starting shortstop.

Crawford went 1-for-3 with two walks and a run in a win over the Pirates on Tuesday.

The game marked Crawford's return to the lineup after being given Sunday off following an 0-for-8 tally over his first two games back from a hamstring injury. Manager Scott Servais had mentioned he was looking to clear the shortstop's head a bit after the pair of rough games, and the strategy seemed to have worked to an extent.

Reyes left the Pirates prior to Tuesday's 6-0 loss to the Mariners after his wife gave birth to the couple's first child, Adam Berry of MLB.com reports.

Thanks to the expanded September roster, the Pirates won't have to place Reyes on the paternity list, though he'll still likely report back to the club after taking the normal 1-to-3 days off to spend time with his family. Before leaving the team, Reyes had fallen into a semi-regular role in the outfield while Starling Marte (wrist) has been unavailable.

Ahmed (finger) remains on the bench Wednesday against the Marlins.

Ahmed was scratched from Tuesday's lineup with a finger issue and will wind up missing at least one more start. Domingo Leyba gets the start at shortstop.

Turner went 1-for-4 with a walk, a stolen base and a run Tuesday in the Nationals' 6-2 win over the Cardinals.

Turner has been caught stealing just twice in his last 18 attempts and ranks fifth in the majors with 33 stolen bases on the season, an impressive feat considering he missed six weeks with a broken right index finger. The speedy leadoff man has seen his bat cool off in September -- he's slashing a pedestrian .269/.319/.373 on the month -- but the solid production he offers in the steals and runs categories makes him an easy selection for fantasy lineups as the season winds down.

Crawford went 3-for-6 with a double and a pair of RBI in Tuesday's extra-innings win over Boston.

Crawford was one of four Giants to reach base at least three times in an exciting back-and-forth contest against an interleague foe. The 32-year-old's season has been nothing short of a disaster (.234/.311/.361 through 139 games), but the shortstop has been showing a little life at the plate with eight hits and five walks over his last five starts.

Correa, who returned from the 10-day injured list to start at shortstop in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Rangers, won't play Wednesday in the series finale, David Barron of the Houston Chronicle reports.

As was suggested over the weekend, the Astros are ramping up Correa slowly upon his return. After playing a full nine innings Tuesday and going 0-for-4 with three strikeouts, Correa will sit out Wednesday and then return to play Friday against the Angels after an off day. Manager AJ Hinch suggested Correa would play in only two of the Astros' three games over the weekend.

Anderson went 4-for-6 with a home run and two RBI in Tuesday's 9-8 extra-innings loss to the Twins.

Anderson recorded the first four-hit game of his career and solidified his major-league lead in batting average. His average increased to .336 with the performance, his 20th multi-hit effort in his last 29 games.

Seager went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles and four RBI in a win over the Rays on Tuesday.

Seager plated two runs with a double in the fifth inning and repeated the feat in the seventh. The 25-year-old has hit 41 two-baggers this season and has produced the last two 40-plus doubles tallies on the Dodgers, having previously achieved the feat in 2016.
