Perkins (2-1) was charged with the loss and a blown save Wednesday against the Phillies, allowing four runs (two earned) on two hits and one walk in 1.1 innings. He struck out two.

Perkins, who has been emerging as the Athletics' primary closer as of late, entered in the seventh inning Wednesday. The right-hander tossed a clean seventh before unraveling in the eighth, recording just one more out. A throwing error by Jeff McNeil prevented two of the runs from being earned, but nonetheless Wednesday's usage shows that roles remain fluid in the bullpen. Through 14.2 innings, he has a 3.68 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 19:4 K:BB while converting three of his four save chances.

Wolfram picked up a hold Wednesday against the Marlins, allowing one run on two hits and no walks in two-thirds of an inning.

The 29-year-old left-hander has now given up five earned runs in his last nine appearances, so he appears to be well out of contention for save chances in the absence of closer Ryan Helsley's (elbow). Although Wolfram has a superb 20:1 K:BB with five holds over 13 innings, he also has a rocky 4.85 ERA and 1.54 WHIP.

DeLuca went 1-for-4 with an RBI double and a run scored in Wednesday's 3-0 win over Toronto.

DeLuca doubled off Blue Jays southpaw Patrick Corbin for his seventh two-bagger of the year. While DeLuca tends to sit versus right-handed pitching, he's been effective in his part-time role for the Rays. Over 34 at-bats against left-handers, the righty-hitting outfielder is batting .294 with two home runs, four doubles and nine RBI.

Kelly picked up a hold Wednesday against Toronto, allowing two hits and no walks in a scoreless inning of work.

Although the 28-year-old right-hander hasn't received a save opportunity since early April, he's still been a key part of Tampa Bay's bullpen despite falling out of favor in the Rays' closer picture. Kelly sports a 3.45 ERA, 0.83 WHIP and 13:4 K:BB across 15.2 innings this year while also collecting six holds.

Springs didn't factor into the decision Wednesday against the Phillies, allowing two runs on eight hits and no walks in 5.1 innings. He struck out four.

The 33-year-old southpaw filled the zone Wednesday -- perhaps to a fault -- as he threw 55 of his 75 pitches for strikes but gave up his second-most knocks of the year. Even so, Springs managed to limit the damage and has now tossed at least five frames in every start so far this season, except for the outing prior to Wednesday, when he was lifted early due to hip soreness. He'll bring a 3.89 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 39:12 K:BB across 44 innings into his next outing, which is set to come against the Cardinals.

Carter went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 6-1 win over the Yankees.

Carter went deep for the first time since April 23, which was also his last multi-RBI effort. The 23-year-old outfielder still has a long way to go before commanding more fantasy attention, though. Across 130 trips to the plate this year, Carter is slashing a paltry .178/.299/.336 with four big flies, five doubles, 11 RBI and five stolen bases.

Seager went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional RBI in Wednesday's 6-1 win over the Yankees.

The 32-year-old shortstop ended a 10-game dry spell without a homer Wednesday. Seager isn't hitting for much average in the early going, but he's getting on base at a healthy clip while supplying a decent amount of power. Through 153 plate appearances this season, he's slashing .214/.314/.420 with seven long balls, six doubles, 19 RBI and 19 walks.

Warren (4-1) took the loss Wednesday against the Rangers, allowing six runs on seven hits and three walks in four innings. He struck out seven.

The 26-year-old right-hander didn't give up more than two earned runs in any of his first seven starts, but he ran into tough sledding Wednesday. Warren tied a season worst in hits allowed, served up multiple home runs for the first time this year and even matched a season high in walks. It remains to be seen if Warren, who has a strong 3.46 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 53:11 K:BB across 41.2 innings, will hang onto his rotation spot once the Yankees get Carlos Rodon (elbow) and Gerrit Cole (elbow) back, but he's tentatively slated to face the Orioles in his next trip to the hill.

The Yankees optioned De Los Santos to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Wednesday.

The Yankees recalled De Los Santos from Triple-A ahead of Wednesday's contest, and he'll now return to the minors after striking out five batters over 3.1 innings against Texas. The 28-year-old right-hander now owns a 1.69 ERA through 5.1 frames in the big leagues this season and could return to New York later in the year when the Yankees need length out of the bullpen.

Eovaldi (4-4) earned the win Wednesday against the Yankees, allowing one run on three hits and no walks in eight innings. He struck out eight.

Facing the first-place Yankees in a second straight start, Eovaldi delivered perhaps his finest showing of the season thus far. The 36-year-old right-hander registered 19 whiffs en route to setting season highs in strikeouts and innings while tying a season low in hits allowed. Eovaldi will try to further improve on his 4.15 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 47:10 K:BB over 47.2 innings in his next outing, which is slated to come versus Arizona.
