Blue Jays' Easton Lucas: Recalled from Triple-A

The Blue Jays recalled Lucas from Triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday.

Lucas was claimed off waivers last month and will be making his Blue Jays debut when/if he gets into a game. The lefty reliever holds a 9.22 ERA and 15:9 K:BB over 13.2 innings from 2023-24 during his brief time at the major-league level.

  • Zach Pop RP | TOR

Blue Jays' Zach Pop: Optioned to minors

The Blue Jays optioned Pop to their spring training complex on Tuesday.

He's being sent to the team's spring training facility because Triple-A Buffalo's season is over. Pop will be replaced on the roster and in the bullpen by Easton Lucas.

  • Tarik Skubal SP | DET

Tigers' Tarik Skubal: Stellar in 18th win

Skubal (18-4) earned the win Tuesday over Tampa Bay, allowing two hits and one walk over seven scoreless innings. He struck out seven.

Skubal's now earned wins in six of his last nine outings -- he's only allowed more than two earned runs once in that span while posting a 1.94 ERA across 55.2 innings. Skubal, the current Cy Young frontrunner in the American League, will carry a 2.39 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 228:35 K:BB into his final regular-season start, likely to come this weekend at home against the White Sox.

  • Esteury Ruiz LF | OAK

Athletics' Esteury Ruiz: Undergoes knee surgery

Ruiz (wrist) underwent right knee arthroscopic surgery Tuesday, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

A patella tendon debridement and a chondroplasty procedure were performed on the knee. Ruiz -- who had already been ruled out for the season with a left wrist strain -- will rehab this offseason in hopes of being ready in time for spring training. The 25-year-old played 29 games for the Athletics this season, producing a .652 OPS with two homers and five steals.

  • Connor Wong C | BOS

Red Sox's Connor Wong: Sitting out Tuesday

Wong is not in the lineup for Tuesday's contest in Toronto, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.

It looks to be a routine day off for Wong. Danny Jansen will do the catching for the Red Sox on Tuesday.

  • Tyler O'Neill LF | BOS

Red Sox's Tyler O'Neill: Not in Tuesday's lineup

O'Neill is absent from the lineup in Tuesday's game versus the Blue Jays, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.

O'Neill returned to the lineup Monday at designated hitter after missing both ends of Sunday's doubleheader with a back issue. It's not clear whether it's his back that's keeping him out of Tuesday's lineup. Jarren Duran and Wilyer Abreu will be in the corner outfield spots for the Red Sox.

  • Lenyn Sosa 3B | CHW

White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Absent from lineup

Sosa is not in the lineup for Tuesday's contest against the Angels.

Sosa had started each of the previous 10 games at second base but will begin this one on the bench. Nicky Lopez will handle the keystone and bat leadoff for the White Sox.

  • White Sox's Dominic Fletcher: Not in Tuesday's lineup

Fletcher is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Angels.

He'll take a seat for the series opener after starting each of the previous five games. Zach DeLoach will cover right field for the White Sox while Fletcher gets some rest.

  • Yankees' Jasson Dominguez: Not in Tuesday's lineup

Dominguez is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Orioles.

Dominguez started the previous two games and went 2-for-8 with a two-run homer and a stolen base, but he'll sit for Tuesday's series opener versus Baltimore. Alex Verdugo will take over in left field and bat ninth.

  • Tayler Scott RP | HOU

Astros' Tayler Scott: Plays catch Tuesday

Scott (back) played catch in the outfield at Minute Maid Park on Tuesday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Scott just landed on the 15-day injured list over the weekend with a thoracic spine strain, so it's a good sign that he's already throwing again. He will not be eligible to return before the end of the regular season, but the Astros are hoping to have him available as an option at some point during the playoffs.
