Rooker won't play in Wednesday's game against the Brewers due to knee soreness, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Manager Mark Kotsay said the team will wait to see how Rooker feels leading up to Friday's game against the Rockies before deciding whether he needs to spend time on the injured list. Carlos Cortes will work as the Athletics' designated hitter Wednesday while Lawrence Butler starts in right field, and that could be the defensive alignment the team uses if Rooker has to miss more time.

Chivilli (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Wednesday.

Right shoulder discomfort has kept Chivilli out of action since late April, but after beginning a throwing program in late May, he's already been cleared to begin pitching in minor-league games. He'll presumably make multiple appearances with the RailRiders before returning to the Yankees' bullpen.

Helsley (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Norfolk on Thursday, Cordell Woodland of 105.7 The Fan Baltimore reports.

Helsley was cleared to throw live batting practice Monday, and after getting through it without any problems, he's now set to test his elbow in a game setting. The 31-year-old closer has been on the shelf since the beginning of May and will likely require multiple tune-up outings before coming off the IL.

Pena isn't in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Angels, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Pena will take a day to regroup after going 0-for-10 with two walks, four strikeouts and two steals over his last three games. While he rests, Shay Whitcomb will make a start at shortstop and bat seventh.

The Brewers traded Waguespack to the Tigers on Wednesday in exchange for cash or a player to be named later, Jack Stern of BrewerFanatic.com reports.

Waguespack has posted a 1.74 ERA and 1.24 WHIP in 20.2 innings at Triple-A Nashville this season. He didn't own a 40-man roster spot with the Brewers, so he'll remain in the minors upon joining his new organization and figures to provide bullpen depth at Triple-A Toledo.

Rooker isn't in the lineup for Wednesday's game against Milwaukee.

Rooker has slashed .243/.300/.541 with three homers and eight runs scored across his last 10 games, but the A's will now have him begin on the bench for a second consecutive game. Carlos Cortes will move into the DH spot as a result, opening up right field for Lawrence Butler.

Muncy isn't in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Brewers.

Muncy has gone 1-for-8 with a walk, two RBI and a run scored in two games since returning from the injured list. He'll move to the bench to begin Wednesday's series finale, allowing Alika Williams to start at shortstop while batting ninth.

Guzman isn't in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Astros, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Guzman will retreat to the bench for Wednesday's series finale after going 0-for-10 with an RBI and two strikeouts through the first two games. Nick Madrigal will start at third base and bat sixth while Guzman sits.

Schanuel (calf) isn't in the lineup for Wednesday's game against Houston, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Schanuel took a pitch off his leg in the first inning of Tuesday's game, and he was later pulled when his calf began to tighten up. He'll get a day off to recover Wednesday, allowing Trey Mancini to start at first base.

Joyce (shoulder) has been throwing at the Angels' facility in Arizona but has yet to resume mound work, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Joyce has been on the injured list all year while on the mend from a shoulder procedure he underwent in May 2025. He was initially cleared to begin a rehab assignment in late April but was shut down when his shoulder began failing to recover in between outings. He resumed throwing in late May, but the Angels are seemingly taking things slowly while building the 25-year-old back up. It's unclear how far away he is from beginning another rehab assignment.
