Cousins (elbow) began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday, striking out one and issuing one walk in a scoreless frame.

It's the first appearance for Cousins since he underwent Tommy John surgery in June 2025. He averaged 94.3 mph with his four-seamer in the outing, which is down only slightly from his pre-surgery velocity. Cousins has had difficulty staying healthy in his career, but he boasts a 2.78 ERA and 32.6 percent strikeout rate over parts of four seasons, so he could provide a boost to the Dodgers' bullpen down the stretch after he makes a few more rehab appearances.

Myers went 3-for-4 with a run scored in Wednesday's 7-3 win over the Padres.

Getting the start in center field and batting sixth even with right-hander Casey Mize on the mound for San Diego, Myers delivered his second three-hit effort in his last six games. The 30-year-old is making a case for more playing time as the Reds try to stay in the NL wild-card race, and over his last 15 contests he's slashing .308/.368/.500 with three home runs, one steal, four RBI and eight runs.

Bleday went 3-for-4 with a double, a two-run home run and a second run scored in Wednesday's 7-3 win over the Padres.

The 28-year-old outfielder put together his best performance since banging out four hits in Arizona on Aug. 22, erasing a rough stretch in which he'd hit just .129 (4-for-31) with zero extra-base hits during the nine games between those offensive eruptions. Bleday's feast-or-famine nature limits his fantasy utility and underscores his .222/.333/.437 slash line on the year, but he's set a new career high in 2026 with 22 homers, and he's five RBI shy of the career-best 60 he recorded in 2024 with the A's.

Williamson (3-3) picked up the win Wednesday, giving up three runs on seven hits and two walks over 5.1 innings in a 7-3 victory over the Padres. He struck out five.

Activated from the 60-day IL earlier in the day after recovering from shoulder trouble, the southpaw looked like he was headed for a quick exit in his first big-league start since late April after he served up a two-run homer to Ty France in the first inning and allowed another run to cross the plate in the second. Williamson settled in after that, however, and gave his offense a chance to get rolling, eventually leaving the mound after 87 pitches (58 strikes). The Reds plan to have him work in tandem with Chase Burns next time through the rotation to help lessen the young righty's workload, which would set Williamson up to make his next appearance on the road early next week against the Dodgers.

France went 2-for-3 with a walk and a two-run home run in Wednesday's 7-3 loss to the Reds.

The first baseman gave the Padres an early lead when he got hold of a first-inning changeup from Brandon Williamson and dropped it over the left-field fence. The homer was France's 20th of the year, tying his career high in a remarkable comeback campaign after he struggled to stick in the majors the prior two seasons and bounced through four different organizations. Over his last 25 games, France has delivered a .302/.411/.488 slash line with four doubles, four home runs, 10 runs and 13 RBI.

Brito started at second base and went 1-for-3 with a walk, a three-run home run and a stolen base in Wednesday's 7-3 win over the Padres.

Brito erased an early three-run deficit with a three-run homer in the second inning. It was the first hit for his new team, which acquired Brito at the trade deadline from Cleveland and added him to the roster for September. He's started two straight games at second base since his promotion, while Matt McLain covered shortstop for Elly De La Cruz, who is battling a quadriceps injury that limited him to designated hitter the last three contests.

Mize (5-9) took the loss Wednesday as the Padres fell 7-3 to the Reds, coughing up four runs on five hits and a walk over four innings. He struck out four.

The right-hander was once again dragged down by one bad frame, as all four Cincy runs against Mize crossed the plate in the second inning on a three-run homer by Juan Brito and a solo shot by Hector Rodriguez. Mize has more long balls allowed (six) than strikeouts (five) in his last three starts, stumbling to a 7.71 ERA and 1.54 WHIP in 11.2 innings over that stretch. He'll try to turn things around in his next outing, which lines up to come early next week at home against the Nationals.

Steer (wrist) is scheduled to be examined Sept. 11 to determine if he can begin swinging a bat, MLB.com reports.

To this point, Steer has been limited to strengthening exercises. It seems the hope would be that Steer could rejoin the club in the final days of the regular season, but there's also been talk of him being shut down. Given where the Reds sit in the standings, there's an argument to be made for the latter scenario.

McCann went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 1-0 win over Philadelphia.

McCann, who had struck out twice against Phillies starter Andrew Painter, homered on the first pitch of the eighth inning off reliever Jonathan Bowlan. He reached low for a sweeper down in the zone for his fifth home run of the season. As the backup catcher, McCann gets a couple of starts per week, but as the Diamondbacks battle for a postseason berth, manager Torey Lovullo may be tempted to get starting catcher Gabriel Moreno's bat in the lineup as much as possible. That could result in Moreno slotting in at DH and McCann working behind the dish.

Carroll started in right field and went 0-for-3 with a stolen base in Wednesday's 1-0 win over the Phillies.

Carroll, who experienced lower-back discomfort Tuesday but stayed in that game, was back in the starting lineup a day later. Not only did he play nine innings in the field, but Carroll also swiped his 21st base of the season. With the team not on Thursday's MLB slate, the back will get rest before the Diamondbacks resume play Friday against the Astros in Houston.
