  • Blake Perkins RF | MIL

Brewers' Blake Perkins: Sitting after four straight starts

Perkins is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.

After starting in each of the last four games while going 3-for-15 with a double, an RBI, a stolen base and a 2:7 BB:K, Perkins will hit the bench as the Brewers wrap up their three-game series in Boston. Milwaukee will roll out an outfield of Brandon Lockridge, Garrett Mitchell and Sal Frelick from left to right Wednesday. Perkins is capable of playing all three outfield spots, but he looks set to see most of his reps in left field as part of a timeshare with Lockridge while Milwaukee awaits Jackson Chourio's (hand) return from the injured list.

  • Max Williams LF | MIA

Marlins' Max Williams: Recovering from shoulder surgery

Single-A Jupiter placed Williams on the 60-day injured list March 20 after he had surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left (throwing) shoulder in February, Jim Callis of MLB Pipeline reports.

Callis relays that the hope is for Williams to start getting at-bats at designated hitter in July. Williams hit .269 with zero home runs and five steals in 19 games at Single-A last year after the Marlins selected him in the third round out of Florida State.

  • Luis Rengifo 2B | MIL

Brewers' Luis Rengifo: Collecting fourth straight start

Rengifo will start at third base and bat sixth in Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.

Rengifo will cover third base for a fourth straight game after going 2-for-14 with a pair of doubles and a run scored over the previous three contests. Despite the recent uptick in playing time, Rengifo won't necessarily be in line for an everyday role moving forward. He's benefited from Milwaukee facing two left-handed starters during this four-game stretch, as well as Brice Turang being held out of the lineup for the latter two contests while battling what appears to be a minor ankle injury.

  • Heliot Ramos LF | SF

Giants' Heliot Ramos: Grabbing first day off

Ramos is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Phillies.

Ramos will get his first day off of the season after a dreadful start in which he's produced a .437 OPS and 40.8 percent strikeout rate in his first 12 contests. Jerar Encarnacion will play left field and bat sixth for the Giants against righty Aaron Nola.

  • Giants' Daniel Susac: Tallies three hits in victory

Susac went 3-for-4 with two RBI, a run scored and a triple in Tuesday's 6-0 win over the Phillies.

With Patrick Bailey getting the night off, Susac made his second big-league start and turned in another impressive performance. The 24-year-old catcher singled in the second inning and added another base hit in the fifth before coming around to score. He also delivered a two-run triple in the eighth, driving in San Francisco's final runs. Across eight plate appearances this season, he has gone 6-for-7 with one walk. While Bailey should continue to see the majority of the reps behind the plate, Susac's strong play to begin the season could result in more playing time. Per Maria Guardado of MLB.com, manager Tony Vitello said, "I think [Susac has] earned the right to be out there for us more often. It's not an easy thing to go out there all the time. ... You'll be seeing plenty of both guys as the season goes on."

  • Esmil Valencia CF | MIA

Marlins' Esmil Valencia: Sidelined at Single-A

Single-A Jupiter placed Valencia on the 7-day injured list Tuesday with a broken finger, Fish On First Prospects reports.

Valencia went 3-for-10 with a triple and two steals in three games for the Hammerheads before suffering the injury. He should return sometime this summer.

  • Miguel Rojas SS | LAD

Dodgers' Miguel Rojas: Returning to lineup Wednesday

Rojas (personal) will start at shortstop and bat ninth in Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays.

Rojas had been slated to start at shortstop in Tuesday's 4-1 win, but he ended up being scratched shortly before the game after learning of the sudden passing of his father. Though Rojas is back with the Dodgers and in the lineup Wednesday, he could go on bereavement list at some point in the coming days to tend to the personal matter.

  • Mets' Francisco Lindor: Logs multi-hit effort in win

Lindor went 2-for-5 with a double and two runs scored Tuesday against the Diamondbacks.

Lindor helped spark the New York offense Tuesday, scoring the game's first run on a Brett Baty sacrifice fly in the first inning before doubling to right field an inning later, which led to another run crossing on a throwing error. The star shortstop has now recorded multi-hit performances in two of his last four games, a positive sign after a slow start to the season. Despite the recent uptick, Lindor's still slashing just .167/.340/.286 with a 10:9 BB:K across 53 plate appearances, though his track record of 95 home runs, 275 RBI and 91 stolen bases over the last three seasons suggests he's likely to heat up as the year progresses.

  • Brewers' Robert Gasser: Nursing arm injury

Gasser hasn't made an appearance for Triple-A Nashville since March 27 while dealing with muscle soreness in his left biceps and triceps, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

The injury may explain why the Brewers didn't recall Gasser and instead opted to promote Shane Drohan from Triple-A to make a spot start Wednesday against the Red Sox, after a doubleheader last week forced Milwaukee to temporarily expand its rotation to six men. Gasser hasn't been placed on Nashville's injured list and appears to be making good strides in his recovery, with Hogg noting that the southpaw is scheduled to throw a bullpen session at some point this week.

  • Diamondbacks' Jonathan Loaisiga: Squanders another lead

Loaisiga was charged with a blown save Tuesday against the Mets, allowing one run on two hits while striking out one over one inning.

Loaisiga entered the eighth inning with a one-run lead but quickly ran into trouble, allowing a pair of singles to put runners at the corners before Jared Young lifted a sacrifice fly to bring home the tying run. The 31-year-old has now been charged with back-to-back blown saves after opening the season with four scoreless outings. Despite the recent struggles, Loaisiga still holds a respectable 2.84 ERA and should continue to see high-leverage opportunities alongside Paul Sewald, though potentially with a short leash moving forward.
