The Dodgers activated Muncy (oblique) from the 10-day injured list, and he'll start at third base and bat out of the cleanup spot against the Rockies on Monday.

Muncy landed on the 10-day IL in mid-August due to a right oblique strain. He went 2-for-7 with two walks in three rehab games with Triple-A Oklahoma City, and the veteran third baseman has progressed enough in his recovery to return to the Dodgers' lineup for Monday's series opener. Catcher Chuckie Robinson was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move.

The Reds intend to activate Burns (elbow) from the 15-day injured list Friday, Gordon Wittenmyer of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Burns was cleared to resume throwing in mid-August and progressed to facing live hitters in early September. He's in the final stages of his recovery from a Grade 1 right elbow strain, and the 22-year-old looks poised to skip a rehab assignment and return to the majors as long as he gets through Tuesday's bullpen session without suffering a setback, per Wittenmyer. Burns started in all eight of his appearances with the Reds prior to his injury and posted a 5.24 ERA and 1.34 WHIP across 34.1 innings, but manager Terry Francona has hinted at Burns working out of the bullpen for the tail end of the season.

Whisenhunt (back) will throw a bullpen session Monday, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

It appears to be the first time Whisenhunt has thrown from the bump since he landed on the 15-day injured list at the end of August with a back strain. Whisenhunt is eligible for activation this weekend, and it's possible he'll return then if the Giants don't think he needs a rehab start.

Glasnow (back) will start Monday's game versus the Rockies in Los Angeles, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

Glasnow was scratched from his scheduled start this past Friday against the Orioles due to back tightness, but he's bounced back well enough since then to receive the go-ahead to take the ball in Monday's series opener. The right-hander threw an even 100 pitches in his most recent start nine days ago, but it's possible the Dodgers will be cautious with his workload Monday as he comes back from the injury.

Fermin is not in the lineup for Monday's game in Seattle.

Fermin started each of the previous three games -- two at third base and one at second base -- while Nolan Gorman shifted to first base to cover for the suspended Willson Contreras. However, Alec Burleson (wrist) is back from the 10-day injured list and will handle first base Monday. Fermin has fared well in his limited chances this season, slashing .278/.381/.417 with one home run and a 6:6 K:BB over 20 contests.

Smith (hand) is not in the Dodgers' starting lineup against the Rockies on Monday, Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Smith will remain out of the Dodgers' lineup while working through a right hand contusion that he suffered Thursday against the Pirates, when his throwing hand was struck by a ball while he was catching. Imaging came back negative, but the contusion is something that Smith will likely have to work through for the rest of the season. Ben Rortvedt will serve behind home plate and bat ninth in Monday's series opener.

Crooks is starting at catcher and batting sixth in Monday's game against the Mariners.

Crooks is making his third start over the last four games and the left-handed hitter has been in the lineup four times across the Cardinals' last five contests versus righties. According to Katie Woo of The Athletic, Crooks is expected to continue seeing the bulk of the starts behind the dish for the rest of the season. Pedro Pages' could be limited mostly to playing versus lefties, while Yohel Pozo will be used as a pinch hitter.

Kelly is out of the lineup for Monday's game in Atlanta.

Kelly will get a breather for the series opener in Atlanta after he started behind the plate in the final two games of the Cubs' weekend set versus the Nationals, going 2-for-7 with a pair of solo home runs, an additional RBI and a walk between those contests. Reese McGuire will handle catching duties for Chicago on Monday.

Taillon (groin) will be activated from the 15-day injured list to start Wednesday's game in Atlanta, Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network reports.

Taillon has officially been cleared to rejoin the Cubs rotation after missing the past couple weeks of action with a strained left groin. The veteran right-hander allowed three runs on six hits --including a pair of home runs -- and a walk while striking out six over 3.2 innings in his lone rehab start with Triple-A Iowa this past Thursday. Taillon threw 68 pitches in that outing, so he'll have a somewhat limited workload Wednesday.

The Cubs recalled Roberts from Triple-A Iowa on Monday.

Roberts will rejoin the Cubs and provide a fresh arm in the bullpen after Daniel Palencia (shoulder) was placed on the 15-day injured list in a corresponding move. Over 10 appearances with the big club this season, Roberts has posted a 6.00 ERA and 1.33 WHIP across nine innings.
