The Pirates recalled Murdock from Triple-A Indianapolis on Tuesday, Colin Beazley of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Murdock owns a 4.21 ERA and 1.15 WHIP across 25.2 innings at Triple-A this season, and he's fired three shutout frames in the majors. He'll rejoin Pittsburgh's bullpen to provide the team with another fresh arm, replacing Khristian Curtis.

Manager Pat Murphy said Tuesday that Gasser will be available out of the bullpen the next couple days versus the Mets, if needed, but remains lined up to start this weekend against the Rangers, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

The left-hander has surrendered at least three runs in each of his past three starts and has completed five frames in just one of those outings. It's been an up-and-down campaign for Gasser, who has a 4.79 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 72:23 K:BB across 77 innings this year. Regardless of when he next takes the mound, the 27-year-old is likely to get a couple starts in the near future since Milwaukee doesn't have its next day off until Sept. 10.

The Giants recalled Bivens from Triple-A Sacramento on Tuesday, per Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle.

Bivens will come up for his second stint in the majors this season. With Sacramento, the 32-year-old owns a 5-3 record with a 5.16 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 63:25 K:BB over 68 innings this season. The Giants added Bivens to the active roster with Carson Whisenhunt (elbow) sidelined for the rest of the year.

Kelly is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Despite launching a solo shot in the series opener Monday, Kelly will sit out Tuesday's matchup. The Cubs will send out Miguel Amaya to handle the catching duties and bat ninth.

Bauers is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Mets due to some swelling in his foot, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

The swelling stems from Sunday's game versus Atlanta in Williamsport, where he fouled a pitch off himself. He said he's fine to play but will still get a day off against Mets lefty Zac Thornton.

Mitchell (forearm) is starting in center field and batting seventh Tuesday against the Mets, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Mitchell departed Sunday's game versus Atlanta with a forearm contusion after being hit by a pitch, but he's set to go following Monday's team off day. The 28-year-old has two doubles and a homer over his past three games, with those three-extra base hits being his first since Aug. 6.

Basabe is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Reds, per Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle.

With a .167/.196/.185 slash line over his last 15 games, Basabe will get a breather Tuesday. Shay Whitcomb will take over at third base and bat seventh for San Francisco.

Waldschmidt is out of the lineup for Tuesday's matchup against the Cubs, per Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com.

After going 0-for-3 with two strikeouts during the series opener against the Cubs on Monday, Waldschmidt will sit out Tuesday. The Diamondbacks are starting Jordan Lawlar in center field and having him bat ninth for the second contest of a three-game set.

Manager Dave Roberts didn't rule out the possibility of Ohtani (knee) pitching Sunday against the Tigers, depending how things go the next few days, Maddie Lee of the Los Angeles Times reports.

The skipper indicated Sunday that Ohtani could pitch in a game as early as this week, and it appears the two-way star is in play to close out the three-game series in Detroit. The right-hander threw 30 pitches in a session of live batting practice Saturday and will have one more mound session this week. If that goes well, Ohtani could make his first appearance on the bump for the Dodgers since early July. He would likely have a limited workload early on, which would give Eric Lauer a chance to work in a piggyback role.

Myers is not in the lineup Tuesday versus the Giants.

Myers went 0-for-4 in the series-opening 5-0 loss to the Giants on Monday. Myers last sat Aug. 17 against the Cardinals, but he came off the bench for a game-tying, pinch-hit home run in the bottom of the ninth. As for Tuesday, TJ Friedl has the start in center field and is batting ninth.
