Reds manager Terry Francona said Wednesday that Miley (forearm) will face hitters Friday, Casey Drottar of MLB.com reports.

It will be the first time Miley has faced live hitters since he went down with a left flexor strain in late June. Miley will be eligible for activation from the 60-day injured list Aug. 16, and he could be ready to return then or shortly thereafter. That said, there's no guarantee the Reds will have a role available for Miley at that time.

Koss went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 8-1 win over the Pirates.

Koss drew the start at second base for the first time since being reinstated from the injured list Friday. He launched a two-run homer in the third inning, giving the Giants a 2-0 lead. The 27-year-old infielder now has three home runs on the season and is slashing .262/.300/.379 with 14 RBI, 13 runs scored and two stolen bases across 113 plate appearances.

Encarnacion went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 8-1 win over the Pirates.

Encarnacion started in right field for the first time since being reinstated from the injured list Monday. The 27-year-old outfielder has missed significant time this season due to a strained oblique and fractured hand, but he returned Tuesday from an extended absence and hit his first homer of 2025. He's now slashing .148/.148/.296 with two runs scored, a home run, a double and a stolen base across 27 plate appearances.

Tong struck out eight while allowing three hits and two walks over five scoreless innings for Double-A Binghamton on Tuesday.

The 22-year-old right-hander has absolutely nothing left to prove in the Eastern League. Tong hasn't served up a home run since late May, and over 53 innings since the beginning of June he sports a 1.02 ERA, 0.83 WHIP and 82:20 K:BB. The minor-league strikeout leader with 154 punchouts in 97 innings on the season, Tong should be getting a promotion to Triple-A any day now, especially with the trade of Blade Tidwell to the Giants having opened up a spot in the Syracuse rotation.

Tucker is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Reds.

With the Reds sending a southpaw (Andrew Abbott) to the mound and the Cubs wrapping up their series versus Cincinnati with a day game after a night game, the left-handed-hitting Tucker will receive what appears to be a routine rest day. Tucker started in each of the Cubs' last 11 contests, slashing .237/.396/.289 with no home runs, no stolen bases, four RBI and four runs over that stretch. Willi Castro will replace Tucker in right field Wednesday.

Marsee went 2-for-2 with a walk, a home run and two RBI in Tuesday's loss to the Astros.

Not much went right for the Marlins in this one, but Marsee provided a highlight by leading off the bottom of the fifth inning with his first career big-league homer, as he launched an AJ Blubaugh sweeper 409 feet to right field. Marsee has gone 6-for-12 with a 5:5 BB:K and five extra-base hits (three doubles, a triple and a homer) in five games since his promotion, and the early returns suggest Miami has found its long-term answer in center field.

Baldwin went 2-for-4 with a walk and a run scored in Tuesday's loss to the Brewers.

Starting at DH and batting third, Baldwin continued to rack up hits. Over 16 games since the All-Star break, the rookie catcher is slashing .293/.359/.397 with six doubles and nine RBI, but his last home run came back on July 9.

Waldrep will probably make another start for Atlanta during a doubleheader Saturday against the Marlins, Rick Farlow of MLB.com reports. "We have a doubleheader coming up at the end of the week," manager Brian Snitker said Tuesday. "We'll see how we get there. I think after [Waldrep's performance in the MLB Speedway Classic on Sunday], we will see him."

The first-round pick in the 2023 First-Year Player Draft gave Atlanta 5.2 strong innings in his season debut for the club Sunday, five days after tossing seven scoreless frames for Triple-A Gwinnett in his best outing of the minor-league campaign. Waldrep has been coming on strong for Gwinnett, posting a 1.99 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 36:16 K:BB over his last seven starts and 40.2 innings, and with Atlanta's pitching staff in tatters, another good effort against Miami this weekend could earn him a much longer look in the majors. At the moment, Atlanta is trying to get through the rest of the season with veteran retreads Carlos Carrasco (5.68 ERA) and Erick Fedde (5.32 ERA) rounding out the rotation, but that duo has no place in the team's future plans.

Horwitz is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Giants.

After starting in Pittsburgh's last three games, the left-handed-hitting Horwitz will head to the bench for the series finale while the Giants send southpaw Robbie Ray to the hill. Liover Peguero will spell Horwitz at first base and atop the batting order Wednesday.

Phillies manager Rob Thomson said that Wheeler's next start will be pushed back from Friday to Sunday in Texas while the right-hander manages shoulder stiffness, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Wheeler felt some stiffness following his most recent start in Saturday's 7-5 loss to the Tigers. He was sent for an MRI -- which came back negative -- and the hurler was able to play catch Wednesday. The Phillies don't appear concerned that the shoulder could be a lingering issue for Wheeler, but fantasy managers should nonetheless keep a eye on news pertaining to the 35-year-old leading up to Sunday. Assuming he makes it through his between-starts bullpen session without issue, Wheeler isn't expected to face any restrictions Sunday.
