  • Trea Turner SS | PHI

Phillies' Trea Turner: Smacks two-run homer Friday

Turner went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and two walks in Friday's 5-3 loss to Atlanta.

Turner took Grant Holmes deep in the third inning for his third long ball of the season. It was also the shortstop's first multi-walk game of the 2026 campaign, as his on-base percentage has now eclipsed the .300 mark. Turner is slashing a disappointing .229/.302/.362 across 116 plate appearances, with three homers, nine RBI, 15 runs scored, three stolen bases and an 11:22 BB:K.

  • Andrew Painter SP | PHI

Phillies' Andrew Painter: Yields five runs in loss to Atlanta

Painter (1-2) took the loss Friday against Atlanta, allowing five runs on nine hits and two walks with just one strikeout across 5.2 innings.

Painter certainly didn't have his best stuff against one of the league's top offenses, as he was able to generate just six whiffs on 96 pitches. The rookie right-hander allowed a two-run homer to Ronald Acuna in the third inning before the wheels came off in the sixth. Painter has now surrendered at least three runs in three of his last four starts and has a pair of one-strikeout games in that span. He'll carry a 5.25 ERA and 21:6 K:BB across 24 innings into his next start. With Taijuan Walker out of the picture, Painter should remain in the Phillies' rotation moving forward, even with Zack Wheeler (shoulder) set to make his 2026 debut Saturday.

  • Michael Harris CF | ATL

Braves' Michael Harris: Pinch-hit two-run double Friday

Harris (quadriceps) had a pinch-hit, two-run double in Friday's 5-3 win over the Phillies.

Harris was initially in Friday's lineup but was scratched after he was forced to leave Thursday's game against the Nationals with quad tightness. It's a positive that he was healthy enough to take an at-bat, though Jorge Mateo came on to run for Harris after he legged out the double. Swinging a scorching-hot bat, the 25-year-old centerfielder is now slashing .326/.363/.581 with six homers, 18 RBI, 11 runs scored, two stolen bases and a 5:15 BB:K across 91 trips to the plate. Harris has at least one RBI in six straight games and in seven of his last eight.

  • Nick Gonzales 3B | PIT

Pirates' Nick Gonzales: Taking back playing time

Gonzales went 1-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored Friday against the Brewers.

Gonzales was briefly overtaken by Nick Yorke for playing time in mid-April, but Gonzales started his fifth consecutive game Friday -- the last three of which have come at third base. He drove in a run in the fourth inning with an RBI single, and he later scored a run after reaching base on an error. Gonzales has tallied at least one hit in each of his last five starts and has gone 8-for-19 with two RBI, three runs scored and a stolen base in that span.

  • Braves' Ronald Acuna: Swats second homer Friday

Acuna went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and two walks in Friday's 5-3 win over the Phillies.

After Trea Turner hit a two-run homer in the top of the third inning, Acuna answered right back with a game-tying two-run shot of his own off Andrew Painter in the bottom half of the frame. It was just Acuna's second homer of the season and snapped an 11-game drought after it took him 14 games to hit his first of the year. He's been scuffling at the plate to begin the 2026 campaign and will carry a .235/.350/.363 slash line with two homers, eight RBI, 12 runs scored, four stolen bases and a 16:22 BB:K over 123 plate appearances into the weekend.

  • Brewers' Brandon Woodruff: Tagged with first loss

Woodruff (2-1) took the loss Friday, giving up three runs on five hits and two walks over five innings against Pittsburgh. He struck out three.

The veteran right-hander started strong with two scoreless frames but allowed single tallies in each of the third, fourth and fifth innings. Woodruff delivered quality starts in his previous two outings but didn't come back out for the sixth inning Friday to end that streak. He's gone at least five frames in each of his five starts this year and has a 3.77 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 23:6 K:BB across 28.2 innings.

  • Ryan O'Hearn RF | PIT

Pirates' Ryan O'Hearn: Scores twice in win

O'Hearn went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored Friday against the Brewers.

O'Hearn tallied hits in the sixth and eighth innings -- the first of which was a double down the right-field line -- and came around to score on each occasion. The effort extended his hitting streak to five games, during which he's gone 7-for-17 with three RBI and four runs scored. O'Hearn has been an excellent contributor overall to begin his first season in Pittsburgh, maintaining a .413 wOBA and .190 ISO across 100 plate appearances.

  • Robert Suarez RP | ATL

Braves' Robert Suarez: Converts third save

Suarez earned the save Friday against the Phillies, allowing one hit and one walk with one strikeout in a scoreless ninth inning.

Suarez put the tying run on base with a walk to Trea Turner and Adolis Garcia single but was able to get Brandon Marsh to ground out to end the game. With Raisel Iglesias (shoulder) on the injured list, Suarez has converted back-to-back saves this week and has big-time fantasy upside for however long Iglesias is sidelined. Suarez is a perfect 3-for-3 in save chances this season and owns a minuscule 0.77 ERA and 12:2 K:BB across 11.2 innings.

  • Grant Holmes SP | ATL

Braves' Grant Holmes: Quality start in win Friday

Holmes (2-1) picked up the win Friday against the Phillies, allowing three runs on seven hits and three walks with four strikeouts across six innings.

Holmes notched his third quality start of the season but has allowed multiple runs in five of six outings to begin the 2026 campaign. The right-hander was able to mostly limit the damage, surrendering a pair of homers to Trea Turner and Bryce Harper to account for the three runs. Holmes will carry a 3.62 ERA and 25:14 K:BB across 32.1 innings into his next start.

  • Eugenio Suarez DH | CIN

Reds' Eugenio Suarez: Bound for injured list

The Reds will place Suarez on the 10-day injured list Saturday with a low-grade oblique strain, Charlie Goldsmith of Fox 19 Now Cincinnati reports.

The Reds initially announced that Suarez was dealing with mid-back pain when they scratched him from the lineup ahead of Friday's game. Further evaluation revealed that the 34-year-old infielder suffered an oblique injury and will have to spend time on the injured list because of it. The team hasn't yet provided a return timeline for him, but because his injury is labeled as "low-grade," he may not need to spend much more than the minimum 10 days on the shelf. In the meantime, Nathaniel Lowe figures to step in as Cincinnati's primary designated hitter against right-handers.
