The Giants placed Susac on the 10-day injured list Friday with a lower-back strain, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Susac was forced out of Thursday's game in the sixth inning with back tightness, and his injury will keep him out until at least July 6. Eric Haase will presumably take over as San Francisco's main backstop until Susac returns. However, Drew Cavanaugh will get the nod behind the plate Friday after coming up from Triple-A Sacramento in a corresponding move.

Arraez (foot) is back in the lineup for Friday's matchup against Atlanta, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

After missing the previous two games with a right foot injury, Arraez is back in the lineup for the series opener against Atlanta. The 29-year-old underwent X-rays that came back clean. Arraez will lead off and play second base in his return.

The Cubs placed Maton (knee) on the 15-day injured list Friday with a right knee injury, Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network reports.

Maton last appeared Thursday against the Mets, when he allowed two hits, including the game-tying home run in the bottom of the seventh. Even prior to that appearance, the 33-year-old had not been himself this season, and overall he's posted a 6.08 ERA, 1.76 WHIP and 31:15 K:BB in 26.2 innings. As the corresponding move, the Cubs added David Peterson to the 26-man roster as he prepares for his Cubs debut Saturday. This marks the second time this season that Maton has hit the IL with a right knee injury.

Tucker (back) will start in right field and bat sixth Friday against the Padres, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Tucker hasn't played since Monday due to back spasms, but he now seems to be feeling better following a few days of rest. He'll aim to turn things around in his return after going cold in June, slashing just .212/.321/.318 with two homers, 13 RBI, seven runs and two steals since the beginning of the month.

Sanoja is absent from the lineup for Friday's game in St. Louis.

Sanoja leads the Marlins with 36 starts at third base this season, but this is his second straight game out of the lineup and his fourth absence over the last five games versus righties. Graham Pauley was recalled from Triple-A Jacksonville and is getting the call at the hot corner Friday.

Hernandez is not in the lineup for Friday's contest in St. Louis.

Hernandez started each of the previous three games -- including two versus righties -- but the right-handed hitter will begins Friday's series opener on the bench. Esteury Ruiz is in left field for the Marlins.

Williams (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment with Single-A Fredericksburg on Sunday, Mark Zuckerman of NatsJournal.com reports.

Williams is finally ready to pitch in games again following last July's internal brace procedure on his right elbow. The veteran right-hander will likely need most, if not all, of the allotted 30 days a pitcher receives on a rehab assignment, but he should be ready to rejoin the Nationals' active roster sometime in July.

Frelick is absent from the lineup for Friday's contest versus the Cubs.

It's right-hander Colin Rea on the bump for the Cubs, but the left-handed-hitting Frelick will nonetheless begin the series opener on the bench. Jake Bauers is occupying right field for the Brewers, and Andrew Vaughn is in the lineup at first base.

The Marlins optioned Norby to Triple-A Jacksonville on Friday.

Norby is slashing only .194/.306/.290 in June and had started back-to-back games on only one occasion. He will aim to get his swing in order at Jacksonville.

The Marlins optioned Brzykcy to Triple-A Jacksonville on Friday.

Brzykcy was with the big club for a few days but did not make any appearances. He's clearing off the active roster to make space for Max Meyer (bereavement), who will start Friday in St. Louis.
