Max Muncy 3B | LAD
Dodgers' Max Muncy: Not in Friday's lineup
Muncy is not in the Dodgers' starting lineup against the Mariners on Friday.
The lefty-hitting Muncy is out of the lineup for a second consecutive game, even with the Mariners sending right-hander George Kirby to the mound. That seems to be due in large part to the Dodgers clinching the NL West after Thursday's win against the Diamondbacks, as Muncy will be joined on the bench by Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman and Tommy Edman in Friday's series opener. Enrique Hernandez will start at third base and bat eighth.

Tommy Edman 2B | LAD
Dodgers' Tommy Edman: Sitting again Friday
Edman is not in the Dodgers' starting lineup against the Mariners on Friday.
Edman will be out of the starting lineup for a second consecutive game, though that presumably has more to do with the Dodgers capturing the NL West following their 8-0 win over the Diamondbacks on Thursday. He'll join Freddie Freeman, Mookie Betts and Max Muncy on the bench while Miguel Rojas starts at second base and bats sixth.

Freddie Freeman 1B | LAD
Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Idle Friday
Freeman is not in the Dodgers' starting lineup against the Mariners on Friday.
Freeman, Mookie Betts, Tommy Edman and Max Muncy will all rest Friday after the Dodgers clinched the NL West with an 8-0 win over the Diamondbacks on Thursday. Dalton Rushing will draw the start at first base and bat seventh.

Dodgers' Mookie Betts: Not in Friday's lineup
Betts is not in the Dodgers' starting lineup against the Mariners on Friday, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Betts will join Freddie Freeman, Tommy Edman and Max Muncy on the bench for Friday's series opener after the Dodgers clinched in the NL West with an 8-0 win over the Diamondbacks on Thursday. Hyeseong Kim will start at shortstop and bat fifth.

Drew Gilbert CF | SF
Giants' Drew Gilbert: Idle Friday
Gilbert is out of the lineup for Friday's game against Colorado, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Gilbert will get the night off Friday after making back-to-back starts in right field. Grant McCray will draw the start in right instead. Gilbert hasn't had a multi-hit performance since Sept. 1.

Isaac Collins LF | KC
Brewers' Isaac Collins: Sitting for third straight game
Collins is not in the Brewers' starting lineup against the Reds on Friday.
Collins will be on the bench for a third consecutive game while Jake Bauers, Jackson Chourio and Sal Frelick start in the outfield from left to right. Collins has failed to record a hit over his last six games and has slashed .167/.314/.286 with four runs, one homer and five RBI in 51 plate appearances since Sept. 1.

Caleb Durbin 3B | BOS
Brewers' Caleb Durbin: Sitting Friday
Durbin is not in the Brewers' starting lineup against the Reds on Friday.
Durbin will be on the bench for Friday's series opener while Andruw Monasterio starts at third base and bats eighth. Durbin went 0-for-8 over his last two starts and has a .766 OPS with six steals, 10 runs, two home runs and seven RBI over 84 plate appearances since Sept. 1.

Robert Gasser SP | MIL
Brewers' Robert Gasser: Set for opener duties
Gasser is expected to serve as Milwaukee's opening pitcher for Saturday's game against the Reds, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Gasser will be making his second start since being recalled from Triple-A Nashville on Sept. 21, though he's not expected to work deep enough into Saturday's contest to qualify for a win. The left-hander -- who allowed two earned runs on one hit and two walks across three innings last Sunday in St. Louis -- could be in line for a similar workload Saturday before turning the game over to Jacob Misiorowski, who is expected to work in bulk relief.

Jacob Misiorowski SP | MIL
Brewers' Jacob Misiorowski: Set for relief role in final series
Brewers manager Pat Murphy said that Misiorowski will operate in a long-relief role out of the bullpen during the team's weekend series against the Reds, Jack Stern of BrewerFanatic.com reports.
Assuming he isn't needed in Friday's series opener, Misiorowski is expected to pitch multiple innings behind opener Robert Gasser in Saturday's game against Cincinnati. Misiorowski last started Sept. 19 against the Cardinals, taking a loss after yielding two runs on five hits and three walks while striking out three batters. The 23-year-old right-hander will likely remain in the bullpen for the postseason, especially if Jose Quintana (calf) is reinstated from the 15-day IL ahead of the NLDS.

DL Hall RP | MIL
Brewers' DL Hall: Activation pending
Hall (oblique) is expected to be activated from the 15-day injured list this weekend, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports Friday.
Hall has been sidelined since Aug. 16 due to a strained right oblique, and he's slated to return this weekend and pitch in a contest before the end of the regular season. Hall has served as a long reliever for the Brewers this season, but injuries have limited him to 19 big-league appearances. The 26-year-old has posted a 3.35 ERA and a 27:17 K:BB across 37.2 innings for Milwaukee in 2025.
