O'Hearn (quadriceps) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Indianapolis on Tuesday, Colin Beazley of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
O'Hearn has not played in a game since he went down with a left quad strain in late July, but he's been cleared to test things out with the Pirates' top minor-league affiliate. Blake Hunt C | SD
Padres' Blake Hunt: Scrubbed from 40-man roster

The transaction frees space on the 40-man roster for Nick Pivetta (forearm), who is back from the 60-day injured list to start Monday's game versus the Nationals. Hunt struck out in all three plate appearances during his brief time in the majors earlier this season, and he's slashed .301/.381/.617 with 11 homers in 42 contests at hitter-friendly Triple-A El Paso.

Nick Pivetta SP | SD
Padres' Nick Pivetta: Returns from IL for Monday's start
The Padres activated Pivetta (forearm) from the 60-day injured list Monday.
Pivetta will rejoin the Padres rotation with a start Monday against the Nationals after missing nearly five months of action due to a flexor strain. The veteran right-hander fanned seven over 4.1 shutout innings in his final rehab start with Triple-A El Paso on Aug. 30. Pivetta threw 64 pitches in that outing, so he won't be ready to handle a full workload Monday.
