The Phillies designated Cairo for assignment Sunday.

A spot on the 40-man roster was needed for the return of Tanner Banks from the 60-day injured list. Cairo was added to the Phillies' 40-man roster just before Opening Day but has yet to make his major-league debut. The 25-year-old infielder has slashed .227/.378/.298 with four home runs, 25 stolen bases and a 90:76 BB:K over 128 games with Triple-A Lehigh Valley this season.

Story went 2-for-4 with two RBI in Sunday's 4-1 win over the Royals.

Story allowed the Red Sox to breathe easier with a two-run double in the eighth inning to increase the lead to 4-1. He's hit safely in 12 of 13 games since coming off the injured list, going 18-for-53 (.340) with seven doubles, six RBI and five runs scored.

Contreras started at first base and went 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in Sunday's 4-1 win over Kansas City.

Contreras was activated off the injured list Sunday, and the Red Sox felt confident using him in the field. In addition to scoring Boston's final run, Contreras showed the hamstring wasn't an issue in the fourth inning, when he reached base on a throwing error and advanced to second.

Bazzana went 2-for-4 with a walk, a home run, three RBI, a stolen base and an additional run scored in Sunday's 9-2 win over Minnesota.

Bazzana helped increase the Guardians' lead with a run-scoring single in the fourth inning followed by a two-run homer in the sixth. He's up to 12 homers with 19 steals in 112 games. Just as it looked like the rookie was starting to fade, Bazzana's bat has awoken in September. Over the last eight games, Bazzana has gone 12-for-26 (.462) with five walks, two doubles, three home runs, 12 RBI and eight runs scored.

Adell went 2-for-5 with a home run, a double, two RBI and an additional run scored in Sunday's 9-2 win over the Twins.

Adell hit a solo home run in the third inning and then doubled home a run in the ninth. The homer was his 21st of the season and snapped a 19-game drought. Since coming over from the Angels at the trade deadline, Adell has a .239/.316/.418 slash line with five home runs, nine doubles, 26 RBI and one steal over 36 contests.

Brito started at second base and went 1-for-4 with a double in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Brewers.

Brito covered second base for a second consecutive game as Matt McLain (shoulder) was unavailable after being scratched from Saturday's lineup. McLain's injury is not considered serious at this point, but it is to the left shoulder -- the same one he had surgery on previously. Brito is most likely to fill in at second base for as long as needed and he has made one start each at shortstop and third base since being called up earlier this month.

Jung went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored in Sunday's 7-6 win over Arizona.

Jung singled home a run during the Rangers' three-run fifth inning to increase their lead. This was his second game back from a calf injury, and Jung posted a second consecutive two-hit game with an RBI and a run scored. After a promising first half in which he posted an .819 OPS, Jung has been limited to just seven games since the All-Star break.

Moreno went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Sunday's 7-6 loss to Texas.

Moreno swatted his solo shot in the fourth inning to pull the Diamondbacks within a run. It was his 13th of the season to go along with 73 RBI. He served as the designated hitter Sunday, as manager Torey Lovullo seeks to keep Moreno's bat in the lineup during the postseason push. Sunday marked Moreno's 23rd start at DH.

Koss went 2-for-4 with an RBI, a run scored and two steals in Sunday's 6-4 loss against San Diego.

Koss collected a pair of singles, swiping second and third base after his knock to lead off the fifth inning. The 28-year-old has seen regular playing time at shortstop with Willy Adames (elbow) sidelined and has taken advantage of the opportunity, slashing .359/.419/.590 with three homers, six RBI, 13 runs and three stolen bases over his past 12 games. His season-long numbers are much more pedestrian, as Koss is hitting .235/.283/.340 with four homers, 10 RBI, 25 runs and five stolen bases in 59 total contests.

Machado went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk in Sunday's 6-4 victory over San Francisco.

Machado sent a hanging sweeper over the left-field wall for a two-run homer in the second inning. The homer broke an 0-for-13 stretch across his previous three games, as it's been a very hot-and-cold 2026 campaign for the veteran third baseman. Overall, he's hitting .221/.311/.413 with 27 homers, 82 RBI, 77 runs and five stolen bases in 145 contests.
