Schmitt went 2-for-3 with three runs scored, a stolen base, a walk and a hit-by-pitch in Monday's win over the Dodgers.

Schmitt did not drive in a run but was a frequent presence on the basepaths, scoring three times to help the Giants take the first game of the series against their bitter rival. The infielder has been highly productive for an offense that's been largely dormant in 2026, slashing .294/.348/.516 with six homers, eight doubles, a triple, 18 RBI, 17 runs and three stolen bases across 35 appearances. The addition of top prospect Bryce Eldridge to the big-league roster creates additional competition, but Schmitt has performed well enough to continue forcing his way into the lineup regularly.

Adames went 2-for-5 with three RBI in Monday's 9-3 win over the Dodgers.

Adames joined the offensive outburst by delivering a two-RBI single in the seventh inning before driving in another run with a single in the ninth frame. Monday marked the shortstop's first three-RBI effort of the season, as he has still struggled to a .215/.247/.344 slash line with three homers, 12 doubles, 11 RBI, 12 runs and a stolen base through 40 games. Adames has now recorded multiple hits in three of the past four contests and will look to continue trending upward after a difficult start to the campaign.

Devers went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, an additional RBI, two additional runs scored and two walks in Monday's victory over the Dodgers.

Devers opened the scoring by crushing a solo homer off Roki Sasaki in the second inning before later drawing a bases-loaded walk against Alex Vesia in the seventh frame. Monday marked another productive effort for the 29-year-old slugger, who has found his footing in May, slashing .364/.436/.758 with three homers, four doubles, seven RBI and eight runs through the first 10 games of the month. His season-long .682 OPS remains underwhelming, but after an ice-cold start to the campaign, Devers appears to be trending in the right direction.

Sasaki did not factor into the decision Monday, allowing three runs on six hits, a walk and a hit-by-pitch over five innings against the Giants. He struck out five.

After allowing a solo homer to Rafael Devers in the second inning, Sasaki settled in during the middle frames before being chased in the sixth, allowing two runs without recording an out in the frame. The right-hander's sophomore season hasn't gone according to plan thus far, as the 24-year-old has allowed three or more runs in five of his starts and completed six innings just once. He'll carry a 1-3 record with a 5.88 ERA, 1.63 WHIP and 31:16 K:BB into his next start, tentatively scheduled for Sunday against the Angels.

McDonald did not factor into the decision Monday, allowing three runs on nine hits and two walks over 5.1 innings against the Dodgers. He struck out four.

McDonald wasn't nearly as dominant in his second big-league start of the year compared to his seven-inning gem May 4 against the Padres, but he still was able to mitigate damage. The right-hander held the Dodgers scoreless through the first three innings before surrendering two runs in the fourth frame and a solo homer to Max Muncy in the sixth inning prior to being pulled. Through two starts, McDonald owns a 2.92 ERA and 1.05 WHIP with a 12:2 K:BB across 12.1 innings. With Logan Webb (knee) sidelined, McDonald figures to stick in the rotation for the time being, with his next start tentatively lined up for Saturday against the Athletics.

Rocchio went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and two RBI in Monday's 7-0 win over the Angels.

Rocchio didn't let a bases-loaded opportunity pass by when he delivered a two-out, two-run single in the second inning. He's been money with runners in scoring position, slashing .382/.475/.529 with 18 RBI in those situations. He also stole his seventh base (caught three times) in 41 games. With the Guardians calling up Travis Bazzana to be the primary second baseman, shortstop will have to be Rocchio's home. It's unclear what Cleveland manager Stephen Vogt's plan is for shortstop when Gabriel Arias (hamstring) is read to return, but Rocchio's bat could put him atop the depth chart.

Fry started at catcher and went 2-for-4 with a walk, a double, an RBI and a run scored in Monday's 7-2 win over the Angels.

Fry made his fifth start of the season at catcher. The Guardians keep him around as a third catcher, but he's mostly been deployed in right field (nine starts) or designated hitter (six). Cleveland's recent acquisition of Patrick Bailey from San Francisco and optioning of Bo Naylor to Triple-A Columbus does nothing to change Fry's role.

Martin (biceps) is expected to begin a rehab assignment Tuesday or Wednesday, Shawn McFarland of the Dallas Morning News reports.

Martin, who has been in the 15-day injured list since April, made progress over the last week. He most recently threw a 25-pitch inning of live batting practice Saturday and is ready to rehab, likely at Triple-A Round Rock, which kicks off a series Tuesday against Sacramento. It's unclear how long Martin will need or if the Rangers will want him to throw on back-to-back days before activating the 39-year-old right-hander.

Duran started at second base and went 1-for-4 in Monday's 1-0 loss to Arizona.

Duran started for the 11th consecutive game, with eight of those coming at second base. He's making a strong case to retain a regular spot in the starting nine, having gone 12-for-38 (.316) with five extra-base hits (one home run), five RBI, one steal and six runs scored during that 11-game run. He'd already stolen playing time at the keystone before Josh Smith (glute) landed on the 10-day injured list and has been the primary fill-in since. Smith, who is eligible to come off the IL on Thursday, came down with a case of wrist inflammation in the midst of his ramp-up per Shawn McFarland of the Dallas Morning News, and he will therefore see his return potentially delayed.

Vargas went 0-for-4 in Monday's 1-0 win over Texas.

Vargas, who opened the season with a 24-game hitting streak, was held hitless for a second consecutive game and is just 5-for-36 (.139) in the nine games since the hit streak ended. A regression was to be expected, but that won't cost him the starting job at first base. The Diamondbacks announced Monday that Carlos Santana aggravated his adductor injury Sunday and will not be returning this week to challenge Vargas for playing time.
