Redick announced Tuesday via his personal Twitter account that he has opted to retire from professional basketball. After an accolade-filled four-year stint at Duke, Redick entered the NBA in 2006 as a lottery selection for Orlando. The 37-year-old then became one of the most prolific three-point and free-throw shooters of his generation, converting at a 41.5 percent rate from downtown and 89.2 percent rate from the charity stripe over a 15-year career that included stops with the Magic, Bucks, Clippers, 76ers, Pelicans and Mavericks. He'll retire with a career average of 12.8 points per game over 940 regular-season appearances.

Redick (heel) has already been ruled out for Game 1 against the Clippers and is now considered unlikely to play in the entire series, Dwain Price of the Mavericks' official site reports. Redick continues to deal with right heel soreness. He missed the Mavericks' final three games to finish the regular season. The veteran will likely look to recover in time for Round 2 should Dallas ultiamtely pull off an upset over the Clippers.

Redick (heel) is out for Saturday's Game 1 against the Clippers, Callie Caplan of The Dallas Morning News reports. Right heel soreness continues to sideline Redick. The hope was that he'd be ready for Game 1, but that won't be the case. In his absence, Trey Burke could see more minutes.

Redick (heel) will miss the rest of the regular season, Brad Townsend of The Dallas Morning News reports. Redick won't play in the Mavs' last three games as he continues to recover from a right heel injury. According to coach Rick Carlisle, Redick is "getting his right heel evaluated and then we'll see where we are." While he recovers, Jalen Brunson and Trey Burke could see increased run in the Mavs' backcourt until the playoffs begin.

Redick left Tuesday's contest against the Grizzlies due to a bothersome heel, which is a "good days, bad days situation," per coach Rick Carlisle. With the veteran out Wednesday, more minutes will be available for Jalen Brunson and Trey Burke.
