• Enes Freedom: Waived by Houston

  Freedom was waived by the Rockets following Thursday's trade from Boston, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. It took all of 10 minutes for the Rockets to announce that they'll waive Freedom, who came over from Boston on Thursday as part of a Daniel Theis-Dennis Schroder swap. Freedom will become a free agent and look to latch on with another team for the remainder of the season.

  Freedom -- plus Bruno Fernando and Dennis Schroder -- was dealt Thursday from the Celtics to the Rockets for Daniel Theis, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. The addition of Theis for the Celtics made Freedom redundant. He'll presumably be out of the rotation or see single-digit minutes for Houston like he was with Boston. The Rockets have Christian Wood, Alperen Sengun and Kenyon Martin holding down minutes at center.

  Freedom supplied seven points (3-6 FG, 1-1 3Pt), 12 rebounds and two assists across 12 minutes during Tuesday's 126-91 win over the Nets. Kanter has been getting DNP-CDs lately, but the blowout win for the Celtics allowed him to get some run. In typical fashion, he cleaned up on the boards in limited minutes.

  Freedom provided two points (0-1 FG, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, one assist and two blocks in 23 minutes during Monday's 104-92 win over the Pelicans. The Celtics were without Robert Williams (personal), but Freedom was still a non-factor offensively. Over his last seven games, the veteran big man has totaled just 15 points, 22 rebounds and three blocks. He's unlikely to warrant any fantasy consideration at any point this season, even in deeper leagues.

  Freedom (COVID-19 health and safety protocols) played 12 minutes and recorded three rebounds and no other statistics in Thursday's 108-105 loss to the Knicks. Freedom cleared protocols Wednesday and was available for the Celtics' two-point loss to the Spurs that day, though he didn't see the court. Head coach Ime Udoka was willing to include Freedom in the rotation for the second end of the back-to-back set, deploying him as the primary backup to Robert Williams. Freedom should be part of the second unit more often than not, but his minutes will likely fluctuate based on matchups and whether or not Williams is dealing with foul trouble.
