Holmes agreed to a two-year, $25.9 million contract with the Wizards on Saturday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. Holmes had to decline his $12.8 million player option prior to this agreement, so he secured himself a small raise. As for the second season of his deal, only $250,000 of it is guaranteed. Holmes figures to play a key role for the rebuilding Wizards in 2024-25 with this news, and he offers some intriguing fantasy appeal due to the lack of depth in Washington's frontcourt.

Holmes (toe) will not play in Sunday's regular-season finale versus the Celtics. Holmes' absence will be his ninth straight to close out the season. After being dealt to Washington from Dallas, the big man ended up playing 17 games for his new team, including eight starts. He averaged 7.1 points and 6.1 rebounds across 18.7 minutes during that span.

Holmes (toe) is questionable for Sunday against the Celtics. Holmes has missed the past eight games for Washington, but he remains day-to-day. Washington's frontcourt depth is in shambles, as Marvin Bagley (knee) is out and Tristan Vukcevic (ankle) is now questionable.

Holmes (toe) won't play in Friday's game versus the Bulls, Chuck Swirsky of the Bulls Radio Network reports. Holmes' absence streak will extend to eight games Friday while dealing with a left toe contusion. His final chance to suit up this season is Sunday's matchup with Boston.

Holmes (toe) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Timberwolves. Holmes will miss a seventh straight game due to a left big toe contusion. Marvin Bagley (knee) and Tristan Vukcevic (knee) are also out, so Anthony Gill, Eugene Omoruyi and Patrick Baldwin are candidates for increased roles. Holmes has only two chances left to suit up this season -- Friday versus Chicago and Sunday in Boston.
