  • Pistons' Lamar Stevens: Heading to Detroit
    By RotoWire

Stevens agreed to a training camp contract with the Pistons on Thursday, Omari Sankofa II of the Detroit Free Press reports. Stevens spent the 2023-24 season with the Celtics and Grizzlies, averaging 7.2 points and 3.3 rebounds in 14.7 minutes per game over 38 regular-season appearances between the two clubs. He missed the final two games of the regular season due to a groin injury, but it seems unlikely the issue will hinder him during camp as he competes for a roster spot with the Pistons.

  • Stevens (groin) will not play Sunday against the Nuggets. Stevens will sit out for a second straight game to end his regular season. He saw ample playing time for the Grizzlies down the stretch due to several injuries on the roster, and he made the most of his opportunities. In 19 appearances, Stevens averaged 11.5 points, 5.1 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 0.9 steals, 0.9 blocks and 0.6 three-pointers.

  • Stevens is out for Friday's game against the Lakers due to left groin soreness. The Grizzlies have pretty much an entire roster sidelined due to injuries, and Stevens is the latest addition to the long list. Groin injuries can be complicated, so it remains to be seen if Stevens will be available for the season finale against the Nuggets on Sunday in a game for which Memphis has nothing to play for.

Stevens returned to the starting lineup Wednesday after missing the last two games with a groin injury. He tied a career high with four blocks and tied Trey Jemison in that category in the loss. Stevens has played 20-plus minutes in each of his last nine games and has averaged 11.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.3 steals over that span.
