Jerome recorded 40 points (14-22 FG, 5-6 3Pt, 7-8 FT), five rebounds, five assists and two steals in 37 minutes during Monday's 135-134 overtime loss to New Orleans. Jerome looked sharp Monday following a one-game absence due to a back issue. He pieced together a spectacular shooting performance and has already reached the 40-point threshold twice in six games so far this season. However, his heroics weren't enough to lead his team to a comeback victory, resulting in the Grizzlies' first loss of the campaign.

Jerome (back) is not listed on the injury report ahead of Monday's game against New Orleans. Jerome didn't play in the 136-105 victory over the Kings on Saturday, though he will return from his one-game layoff for Monday's meeting with the Pelicans. With Jerome cleared to play, Cam Spencer will presumably head back to the bench. However, since Scotty Pippen (back) is doubtful, Spencer should see more minutes than usual.

Jerome (back) won't play in Saturday's game versus Sacramento, Chris Herrington of The Daily Memphian. Jerome has played of late while battling a nagging back injury, though it will finally force him to miss his first game of the 2026-27 campaign. With Scotty Pippen (back) also sidelined, Cam Spencer is the favorite to start at the one.

Jerome (back) is listed as questionable for Saturday's game against the Kings. This isn't the first mention of Jerome's nagging back issue, though it didn't stop him from suiting up for the 124-103 win over the Trail Blazers on Thursday. The 29-year-old has played at an All-Star level in his five regular-season appearances in 2026-27, averaging 25.8 points, 2.2 rebounds and 5.8 assists, all career highs, along with 1.0 steals in 29.8 minutes per contest. With that in mind, if Jerome can't get on the floor Saturday versus Sacramento, Cam Spencer and Scotty Pippen (back) are candidates for more minutes.

Jerome (back) is available for Thursday's game at Portland. Jerome was added to the injury report less than an hour before tipoff, though he was cleared to play after going through pregame warmups. The veteran guard has been spectacular through four regular-season games, averaging 29.8 points, 6.5 assists, 3.5 rebounds, 2.5 triples and 0.8 steals in 31.3 minutes per contest.
