• Facundo Campazzo: On way out of Dallas

  The Mavericks plan to waive Campazzo on Monday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. Dallas will replace him on the 15-man roster with another veteran guard in Kemba Walker, who should offer more of a scoring and playmaking boost to the bench unit than what Campazzo has provided so far this season. The 31-year-old Argentine has been a fringe member of head coach Jason Kidd's rotation in 2022-23, appearing in just seven of the Mavericks' 19 games while averaging 1.4 points, 1.3 assists and 0.9 steals in 7.4 minutes while shooting 23.1 percent from the field.

  Campazzo finished Wednesday's 101-92 loss to the Rockets with three points (1-7 FG, 1-6 3Pt), two rebounds, five assists and three steals over 23 minutes. Campazzo was inefficient from the floor Wednesday, but he recorded season-high marks in rebounds, assists and steals during the loss. He saw increased playing time with Luka Doncic (rest) sidelined, but Campazzo hasn't been part of the Mavericks' rotation when the team is at full strength.

  Campazzo accumulated three points (1-4 FG, 1-3 3Pt), two assists and two steals in 13 minutes during Tuesday's 113-111 loss to the Pelicans. Campazzo saw action for the first time this season, but he failed to deliver much in terms of fantasy value. He can be utilized as a streaming option for anyone in need of assists and steals, although his playing time is unlikely to warrant attention in standard formats.

Campazzo was unavailable for the first two games of the regular season due to visa issues, but he's joined the Mavericks ahead of Tuesday's matchup and will be available moving forward. He's unlikely to have a significant role for Dallas early in the year.
