Hutchison announced his retirement from professional basketball Wednesday, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. Selected by the Bulls with the 22nd overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, Hutchison spent parts of four seasons in the NBA with Chicago, Washington and Phoenix while averaging 5.4 points and 3.7 rebounds in 17.4 minutes per game over 103 career regular-season appearances. He had thus far spent the 2022-23 season in the G League with the Sioux Falls Skyforce, averaging 16.6 points, 7.4 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 33.8 minutes in five outings.

Hutchinson tallied 23 points (8-17 FG, 2-3 3PT, 3-4 FT), 11 rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block across 37 minutes of Wednesday's 102-93 win over Grand Rapids. Hutchinson has been out for a little over one week due to a right leg injury but returned to action Wednesday with a full workload. Although he came off the bench Wednesday, he still received a full allotment of minutes and outplayed Landon Kirkwood, who started in Hutchinson's usual spot.

Hutchison did not play in Saturday's 124-114 victory over Fort Wayne due to a right leg injury. Hutchison has averaged 10 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.3 rebounds in 30.5 minutes per game across Sioux Falls' first three contests, but was unable to participate Saturday due to a leg injury. His next opportunity to suit up will come Friday against the G League Bulls.

Hutchinson stumbled to six points (1-12 FG, 0-3 3PT, 3-5 FT), eight rebounds and four assists in 24 minutes of action in Saturday's 123-105 loss to Iowa. Hutchinson struggled as one of the first players off the bench for Sioux Falls, shooting a miserable 1-of-12 from the field. The 2018 first-rounder struggled with inefficiency last season with Santa Cruz, as well, averaging a poor 36.4 percent on field goals. However, Hutchinson was able to contribute in the peripheral department, logging eight rebounds and four assists in his limited time on the floor.

Hutchison registered 14 points (5-9 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-3 FT), 10 rebounds and two assists in Friday's loss to Austin. Hutchison recorded his second double-double over the past three games, as the forward led the team off the glass while scoring in double figures for a sixth straight contest. After a slow start, the Boise State product is now averaging 7.9 points and 4.4 rebounds this year.
