Nesmith (ankle) won't return to Friday's game against the Pelicans. Nesmith was a perfect 5-for-5 from the floor with 12 points in 10 first-half minutes before sustaining a left ankle sprain. With Andrew Nembhard (knee) also out, the Pacers will need more out of Bennedict Mathurin, Jarace Walker, T.J. McConnell, Obi Toppin and Ben Sheppard.

Nesmith is questionable to return to Friday's game against the Pelicans due to a left ankle sprain, Pat Boylan of Bally Sports Indiana reports. Per Tony East of SI.com, Nesmith was in a lot of pain as he reached for his left ankle and had to be helped off the court before limping to the locker room. Nesmith was a perfect 5-for-5 from the floor with 12 points in 10 first-half minutes. If Nesmith is unable to return, T.J. McConnell, Obi Toppin and Ben Sheppard would be candidates for further increased roles, as Andrew Nembhard (knee) was ruled out ahead of the contest.

Nesmith finished with four points (2-7 FG, 0-2 3PT), one rebound and one block in 21 minutes during Thursday's preseason win over the Hornets. Nesmith was back in the starting lineup but struggled to find any rhythm. Although he is slated to be a starter come Opening Night, Nesmith's fantasy game is relatively limited. He could very well have pockets of value throughout the season, but it's hard to see him being anything more than a streamer, barring injuries to other key players.

Nesmith (ankle) is in the starting lineup for Thursday's preseason game against the Hornets. The Pacers rotated their first unit in their previous preseason contest, but they're trending toward what looks like their lineup for the regular-season opener against the Pistons next Wednesday, and that includes Nesmith, who missed Monday's contest against the Grizzlies due to an ankle injury. Nesmith isn't expected to have any limits regarding his workload in this matchup, though the goal should be to keep him healthy and available for the season opener next week.

His next chance to suit up will come next Thursday against the Hornets.
