Garland could face more competition for ballhandling duties at point guard after the Clippers drafted Keaton Wagler with the No. 5 pick in the 2026 NBA Draft. Garland came off the bench just twice for the Clippers last year, and that was likely done to ease him back into action due to nagging toe injuries. It's hard to envision the star guard seeing a noticeable decline in playing time due to the addition of Wagler, and Los Angeles must believe the two guards will mesh well alongside one another in the long run. If Wagler starts at shooting guard right away, his presence could help alleviate some of the ballhandling duties on Garland's plate.

Garland finished with 21 points (8-15 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 3-3 FT), five rebounds, eight assists and one steal in 31 minutes before fouling out of Wednesday's 126-121 Play-In Game loss to the Warriors. Garland battled foul trouble all night, eventually fouling out in the dying minutes. Although his numbers were fine, he never really found any rhythm, ultimately contributing to what was a devastating loss. With that said, his end to the season was certainly a positive one, positioning him to play a major role next season. In six games over the final two weeks, he averaged 17.0 points, 30. rebounds, 5.7 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.7 three-pointers.

Garland racked up 16 points (5-16 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 4-4 FT), five rebounds, seven assists and three steals over 41 minutes during Friday's 116-97 loss to the Trail Blazers. Garland rejoined the first unit after sitting out Wednesday's game against the Thunder. Garland has averaged 20.2 points, 6.4 assists and 2.4 rebounds since joining the Clippers. While his point total suffered, Garland exceeded his usual production in the secondary categories. For the Clippers to achieve maximum success, Garland needs to get closer to Kawhi Leonard's production, and a few of his lines have shown the potential to get there.

Garland (toe) isn't listed on the injury report ahead of Friday's game against the Trail Blazers, NBA writer Justin Russo reports. Garland was held out of Wednesday's matchup against Oklahoma City due to left toe injury management, but he's been given the green light to return Friday. He's averaging 16.7 points, 2.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.0 steals through three April appearances.

Garland has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Thunder due to left toe injury management. Garland will sit out the second half of this back-to-back set, though he'll likely return for Friday's game in Portland. With the 26-year-old point guard out, Jordan Miller and John Collins are candidates to step into the starting five. Kobe Sanders and Kris Dunn could also see increased playing time in Garland's absence.
