  • Edwards ended Friday's 97-87 win over the Lakers with 23 points (9-20 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 3-5 FT), six rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal over 33 minutes. Edwards led the way for the Timberwolves in scoring once again, and even though he exited the game briefly in the second half, that didn't prevent him from carrying Minnesota to a 10-point win in this low-scoring matchup. Edwards remains the Timberwolves' go-to option on offense. Even though he had a minor two-game stretch in which he struggled badly in early December, he's turned things around with three straight outings with at least 23 points. Edwards is averaging a career-high 26.3 points per game this season, and his 42.3 percent from three-point range is also a career-best figure for the five-year veteran.

  • Edwards (ankle) has returned to Friday's game against the Lakers, Chris Hine of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. Edwards tweaked his ankle in the third quarter, but it wasn't a serious injury. Despite exiting the game briefly, the star guard returned to the hardwood in the fourth quarter.

  • Edwards tweaked his left ankle and went to the locker room during the second half of Friday's game against the Lakers, Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic reports. Edwards appeared to have suffered an ankle injury and went straight to the locker room to get it checked out. If he doesn't return Friday, it'd be a massive blow for the Timberwolves. It'd also translate to more minutes for players such as Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Donte DiVincenzo.

  • Edwards posted a team-high 27 points (10-19 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, six assists and one steal across 37 minutes during Sunday's 114-106 loss to Golden State. The fifth-year superstar put together another strong all-around performance, with his five threes being his highest total since Nov. 24 and his streak of games with at least one steal sitting at seven. Edwards has scored at least 20 points in 21 of 23 contests to begin the season, averaging a career-high 26.4 points per game with 5.4 boards, 4.5 threes, 4.0 assists and 1.4 steals.

  • Edwards finished with 30 points (11-18 FG, 4-10 3Pt, 4-4 FT), four rebounds, nine assists, two blocks and one steal over 35 minutes during Friday's 107-90 victory over the Warriors. Edwards bounced back from two subpar performances and stepped up every time the Timberwolves needed him in his battle between two Western Conference contenders. Aside from reaching the 30-point mark for the sixth time this season, the nine assists were also a season-high mark for the star guard. Even when factoring in the two subpar showings in the wins over the Lakers and Clippers, Edwards is still averaging 24.7 points, 5.7 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game over his last 10 games while shooting 42.1 percent from three in that span.
