Champagnie is not in the Wizards' starting lineup against the Spurs on Thursday. Champagnie will revert to a bench role Thursday after Alex Sarr was cleared to return from a six-game absence due to a right adductor strain. Champagnie started in four of the Wizards' last five games, and over that span he averaged 10.8 points, 8.0 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 1.2 threes, 1.2 steals and 1.0 blocks over 24.4 minutes per game.

Champagnie recorded 13 points (6-13 FG, 1-3 3Pt), 14 rebounds, one block and two steals across 33 minutes during Sunday's 108-89 victory over the Pacers. The double-double was his first of the season, as Champagnie made his third straight start in an Wizards' injury-ravaged frontcourt that was missing four rotation regulars Sunday. The 33 minutes were also a season high for Champagnie, and he's in line for a significant workload as long as Khris Middleton (knee), Bilal Coulibaly (oblique), Alex Sarr (thigh) and Corey Kispert (thumb) remain sidelined. Champagnie has scored in double digits in four of the last six games (four starts), averaging 10.7 points, 8.0 boards, 1.3 assists, 1.2 blocks, 1.2 steals and 1.0 threes in 23.5 minutes over that stretch.

Champagnie had 16 points (6-9 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 2-3 FT), five rebounds, three assists, three blocks and one steal over 32 minutes during Saturday's 131-116 loss to the Hawks. Champagnie made the most of his fifth start of the season, scoring a season-high 16 points while also adding four combined steals-plus-blocks. Much like his brother, Champagnie has the ability to rack up numbers when afforded meaningful playing time. In four games over the past week, he has averaged 12.0 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.0 steals, 1.5 blocks and 1.0 three-pointers, which is good enough for top-60 value. While this could fall off a cliff at any point, he could be worth a look in the short term, even in 12-team leagues.

Champagnie will start against the Hawks on Saturday. With Khris Middleton (knee) sidelined, Champagnie will get the starting nod for the fifth time this season. In his previous four starts, the 24-year-old forward averaged 7.3 points and 4.8 rebounds across 18.0 minutes per contest. However, he'll likely see a bump in minutes due to Bilal Coulibaly (oblique) and Corey Kispert (thumb) remaining on the shelf.

Champagnie isn't starting Thursday against Boston, per Josh Robbins of The Athletic. The Wizards are instead offering two-way player Jamir Watkins an opportunity to start. Champagnie has averaged 2.8 points, 3.2 rebounds and 0.9 assists in 10.1 minutes per tilt over 14 games off the bench this season.
