  • The Hawks announced Thursday that Johnson has been diagnosed with a Grade 2 lateral ankle sprain and will be re-evaluated in approximately three weeks. Johnson exited Tuesday's game against Miami due to his ankle injury, and he's facing a multi-week absence following the results of his MRI. Whether Johnson will be back in action at any point during postseason play likely depends on whether the Hawks advance past the Play-In Tournament. In Johnson's absence, Vit Krejci, De'Andre Hunter (rest) and Wesley Matthews (hamstring) could see increased roles.

  • Hawks' Jalen Johnson: Won't play Wednesday
    By RotoWire

Johnson (ankle) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Hornets. Johnson sprained his right ankle during the third quarter of Tuesday's 117-111 double-overtime loss to the Heat and will remain sidelined for the second half of Atlanta's back-to-back set. He has only two more chances to suit up during the regular season -- Friday in Minnesota and Sunday in Indiana -- before Atlanta faces a single-elimination matchup in the Play-In Tournament against Chicago next week.

  • Hawks' Jalen Johnson: Sprains ankle again
    By RotoWire

Johnson is out for the remainder of Tuesday's game versus the Heat due to a sprained right ankle, Mike Conti of the Atlanta Hawks Radio Network reports. He will end the contest with 13 points (6-7 FG, 1-1 3Pt), eight rebounds, three assists and one steal in 24 minutes Johnson rolled his ankle on a drive to the basket with 5:25 remaining in the third quarter. Given that the third-year forward has now sprained his ankle three times this season, he's unlikely to be available for Wednesday's game against the Hornets.

  • Johnson logged six points (3-12 FG, 0-1 3Pt), 16 rebounds, four assists and one steal across 36 minutes during Thursday's 109-95 loss to the Mavericks. Johnson couldn't get it going in the scoring column Thursday, but his 16 rebounds tied a season high he set Jan. 10 against the 76ers. He briefly left in the second half after his knee collided with Daniel Gafford, but Johnson was able to return in the fourth quarter. Since the All-Star break, Johnson is averaging 17.2 points on 47.1 percent shooting, 9.4 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.1 steals over 33.6 minutes per game.

  • Johnson closed with 28 points (10-14 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 6-7 FT), 14 rebounds, 11 assists, one block and four steals over 37 minutes during Wednesday's 121-113 win over the Pistons. In his second game back from an ankle injury that sidelined him for six contests, Johnson produced his first career triple-double to help the Hawks clinch a spot in the Play-In Tournament. The third-year forward has had a breakout campaign but has been on the court for only eight of 17 games since the beginning of March, so his minutes could be limited over the final couple weeks if Atlanta prioritizes keeping him healthy for the postseason.
