Jonas Valanciunas C | DEN
Nuggets' Jonas Valanciunas: Returns with 16 points
Valanciunas (calf) recorded 16 points (6-13 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 4-4 FT), nine rebounds and two assists across 22 minutes Thursday in the Nuggets' 107-97 win over the Wizards.
After straining his right calf in a Dec. 31 win over the Raptors, Valanciunas had been projected to miss about a month before being re-evaluated, but he ended up returning just over a week earlier than anticipated. Though the Nuggets kept Valanciunas' minutes in check in his return, he moved straight into the starting five and delivered a respectable line. Valanciunas could be a candidate to rest in the second leg of a back-to-back set Friday in Milwaukee, but he looks like he'll be in line for a regular 20-plus-minute role on the top unit in the short term until the Nuggets get Nikola Jokic (knee) back in the fold.

Victor Wembanyama C | SA
Spurs' Victor Wembanyama: In uncharted territory
Wembanyama ended Thursday's 126-109 victory over Utah with 26 points (9-14 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 4-4 FT), 14 rebounds, three assists, five blocks and one steal in 33 minutes.
It was Wembanyama's 14th career game with four or more blocks and four or more three-pointers -- he's the NBA's all-time leader in that unique category, surpassing Brook Lopez (12) and Kristaps Porzingis (11). Wembanyama's double-double was his 19th of the season, including three straight. Over seven games since rejoining the Spurs' starting five, he's averaging 25.7 points, 9.6 boards, 3.3 threes, 1.7 assists, 1.7 blocks and 0.9 steals.

Naz Reid C | MIN
Timberwolves' Naz Reid: Big night off bench in loss
Reid amassed 20 points (8-12 FG, 4-7 3Pt), six rebounds, five assists, three blocks and two steals over 29 minutes off the bench during Thursday's 120-115 loss to the Bulls.
The 26-year-old big man headed to the locker room during the second quarter to get his shoulder checked out, but he quickly returned and wound up making an impact at both ends of the court. It was the first time since Dec. 19 that Reid had recorded multiple steals and blocks in the same contest, and over his 10 full games in January -- not counting a Jan. 17 loss to the Spurs in which he played only five minutes -- he's averaged 18.0 points, 6.6 boards, 3.1 assists, 3.0 threes, 1.2 blocks and 0.8 steals in 27.0 minutes.

Rudy Gobert C | MIN
Timberwolves' Rudy Gobert: Ekes out double-double Thursday
Gobert ended Thursday's 120-115 loss to the Bulls with 10 points (3-5 FG, 4-5 FT), 11 rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal across 34 minutes.
It was Gobert's third straight double-double and his 20th of the season, tied for seventh in the league. The veteran center has grabbed double-digit rebounds in 11 consecutive contests dating back to Dec. 29, averaging 10.1 points, 12.5 boards, 2.0 blocks, 1.5 assists and 1.1 steals during that stretch while shooting 71.2 percent from the floor.

Khaman Maluach C | PHO
Suns' Khaman Maluach: Recalled to NBA on Thursday
Phoenix recalled Maluach from the G League's Valley Suns on Thursday.
Maluach has gone back and forth between Phoenix's NBA and G League teams throughout the season and remains unlikely to earn significant opportunities in the parent club's rotation. However, he'll be available ahead of Friday's clash with the Hawks. During his most recent spell in the G League, the rookie logged a double-double against the Stockton Kings.

Ivica Zubac C | IND
Clippers' Ivica Zubac: Grabs 19 boards
Zubac registered 18 points (7-13 FG, 4-4 FT), 19 rebounds and one steal in 32 minutes during Thursday's 112-104 victory over the Lakers.
Zubac secured a game-high 19 rebounds in the win, 10 of which came on the offensive glass. He also posted his best scoring performance since Jan. 7 and did so in an efficient manner. Zubac has now turned in four straight double-doubles, averaging 15.0 points and 14.0 boards during this hot stretch.

Jusuf Nurkic C | UTA
Jazz's Jusuf Nurkic: Posts another triple-double
Nurkic finished with 17 points (7-19 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 2-3 FT), 11 rebounds, 14 assists, one steal and one block in 35 minutes during Thursday's 126-109 loss to the Spurs.
Nurkic turned in his second triple-double in as many games with another stellar performance Thursday night. The big man's playmaking ability has been on full display lately, as he's dished out double-digit assists in back-to-back appearances after failing to do so in his first 33 games of the campaign. Nurkic has now recorded two of Utah's last three triple-doubles dating back to 2008, per Andy Larsen of The Salt Lake Tribune, and he's just the second player in franchise history to produce back-to-back triple-doubles, with the other being Hall of Famer Pete Maravich back in 1975.

Joel Embiid C | PHI
76ers' Joel Embiid: Triple-doubles in win
Embiid amassed 32 points (10-19 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 11-12 FT), 15 rebounds, 10 assists, one block and one steal across 46 minutes during Thursday's 128-122 overtime victory over the Rockets.
Embiid dominated his matchup with Alperen Sengun, regularly bullying him in the post and helping hold the Turkish big man to just 13 points on 5-for-14 shooting. This was the first triple-double of the season for Embiid and the ninth of his career, and it was also the most minutes that Embiid has played in a regular-season game since December of 2022. He's heating up at the right time, so as long as Embiid can stay healthy, he could be on a lot of winning fantasy teams this season.

Dwight Powell C | DAL
Mavericks' Dwight Powell: Posts double-double Thursday
Powell logged 10 points (3-4 FG, 4-5 FT), 12 rebounds and one assist over 27 minutes during Dallas' 123-115 win over Golden State on Thursday.
Powell led the Mavericks in rebounds Thursday while recording his first double-double of the season (and first since Dec. 28, 2023). The veteran has started in five of the Mavericks' last six games, and he should remain in the starting lineup for as long as Daniel Gafford (ankle) is sidelined. Even when Gafford returns, Powell should have an elevated role off the bench in the absence of Anthony Davis (hand).

Naz Reid C | MIN
Timberwolves' Naz Reid: Quickly returns Thursday
Reid (shoulder) checked back in during the second quarter of Thursday's game against the Bulls, Charlie Walton of ZoneCoverage.com reports.
Reid briefly left Thursday's game to have his left shoulder evaluated by medical staff. It was the same injury that caused him to leave Saturday's contest against the Spurs, but the veteran big man is back in the game against Chicago.
