  • Celtics' Neemias Queta: Flirts with double-double in start

Queta logged 17 points (7-8 FG, 3-4 FT) and eight rebounds over 25 minutes before fouling out of Wednesday's 117-116 loss to the 76ers.

Queta got the starting nod Wednesday and fell two rebounds short of a double-double despite fouling out late in the fourth quarter. In spite of some conjecture as to who would be the starting center, Queta made the most of his opportunity. Luka Garza suffered a concussion early in the game, meaning he will likely miss time moving forward. That should ensure Queta holds onto the starting spot, making him a viable 12-team fantasy asset.

  • 76ers' Andre Drummond: Barely touches floor in win

Drummond racked up one rebound across three minutes during Wednesday's 117-116 win over the Celtics.

Drummond managed just three minutes in the win, despite the fact that Joel Embiid was on a strict minutes restriction. Adem Bona logged 15 minutes as the primary backup, and although his production left a lot to be desired, it would appear as though Drummond is third in the current pecking order, making him a non-factor in just about all fantasy formats.

  • Spurs' Victor Wembanyama: Looks unstoppable against Mavs

Wembanyama logged 40 points (15-21 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 9-11 FT), 15 rebounds, one assist, one steal and three blocks in 30 minutes during Wednesday's 125-92 win over Dallas.

Wembanyama got wherever he wanted, whenever he wanted, inside the painted area despite going up against a strong defensive frontcourt in Anthony Davis and Dereck Lively. Wembanyama displayed a variety of strong post moves, including an and-one reverse dunk and several other highlight plays. His lone three-point make came in jaw-dropping fashion, as the 7-foot-5 center rejected a Lively shot attempt, brought the ball down the floor and got fouled on a made step-back three, setting up a four-point play. Entering Year 3, Wembanyama has seemingly elevated his game to another level, and if he can consistently play like he did Wednesday, Wembanyama will certainly be in MVP conversations.

  • Jazz's Walker Kessler: Stuffs stat sheet in opener

Kessler generated 22 points (7-7 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 6-8 FT), nine rebounds, four assists, two steals and four blocks during Wednesday's 129-108 win over the Clippers.

Kessler logged just seven field-goal attempts in the win, yet he wound up leading Utah in points after knocking down all seven looks. The 24-year-old center shot just 17.6 percent from three-point range last season, but he knocked down both of his looks from distance Wednesday. Kessler made multiple threes just once in 58 regular-season contests in 2024-25. Beyond his excellent shooting performance, Kessler fell one rebound shy of a double-double, and he doled out four assists -- something he did merely eight times last season.

  • Yves Missi C | NO

Pelicans' Yves Missi: Exits with ankle injury

Missi rolled his right ankle with 4:32 left in the fourth quarter of Wednesday's 128-122 loss to Memphis, Will Guillory of The Athletic reports. Missi did not return.

Missi looked to be in significant pain after rolling his ankle, and head coach Willie Green didn't offer an update on Missi's status postgame. Missi logged five points (2-4 FG, 1-2 FT), seven rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block over 23 minutes before exiting. With Kevon Looney (knee) sidelined into November and Karlo Matkovic (elbow) also injured, the Pelicans would be left with Derik Queen and two-way player Hunter Dickinson at the center spot if Missi is forced to miss time. A status update should come ahead of Friday's matchup with the Spurs.

  • Nikola Jokic C | DEN

Nuggets' Nikola Jokic: Available for regular-season opener

Jokic (rest) isn't on the injury report ahead of Thursday's game against the Warriors.

Jokic, along with several other starters, rested in Denver's preseason finale, but with the Nuggets submitting an empty injury report for Thursday's contest, Jokic and crew will be a full-go. Jokic averaged 29.6 points, 12.7 rebounds, 10.2 assists and 1.8 steals per game during the 2024-25 regular season, setting career highs in points, assists and steals.

  • Hawks' Kristaps Porzingis: Drains four threes in Atlanta debut

Porzingis contributed 20 points (5-12 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 6-6 FT), seven rebounds, two assists and two blocks across 26 minutes during Wednesday's 138-118 loss to the Raptors.

Acquired from Boston in the offseason to take over starting center duties for Atlanta, Porzingis had a strong debut for his new squad, albeit in a losing effort. The 30-year-old has played more than 57 regular-season games in a season only three times in his career, but with the Hawks having Onyeka Okongwu as a more-than-capable understudy, Porzingis may not see the workload he was accustomed to with the Celtics as Atlanta tries to keep him healthy.

  • Joel Embiid C | PHI

76ers' Joel Embiid: Limited to four points in opener

Embiid was held to four points (1-9 FG, 2-2 FT), six rebounds, two assists and one block in 20 minutes during Wednesday's 117-116 win over Boston.

Embiid looked very rusty, as he opened the game with four straight misses and bricked all four of his three-point attempts. Some rust is to be expected given that he wasn't able to suit up until the final game of the preseason, and he's expected to be eased back into things with some minutes restrictions.

  • Knicks' Karl-Anthony Towns: Playing through Grade 2 quad strain

Towns generated 19 points (5-12 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 8-9 FT), 11 rebounds and two assists in 31 minutes of Wednesday's 119-111 win over the Cavaliers.

Towns went from questionable to doubtful, back to questionable, and eventually available for Wednesday's game. The 30-year-old big man said postgame that he's dealing with a Grade 2 quadriceps strain, but it looks like he plans to continue to play through the injury. Towns saw a full allotment of minutes against Cleveland and delivered a double-double. Towns finished with the third-most points on the team and the second-most rebounds.

  • Bam Adebayo PF | MIA

Heat's Bam Adebayo: Notches double-double in loss

Adebayo totaled 15 points (4-13 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 6-7 FT), 12 rebounds and two assists in 34 minutes during Wednesday's 125-121 loss to the Magic.

Adebayo had a night to forget offensively but still managed to grind his way to double digits given his shot volume and a decent effort from the free-throw line. It was a much different story for the big man on the glass, where he secured a game-high 12 boards for his first double-double of the 2025-26 campaign. Norman Powell stepped up for 28 points in Wednesday's season opener, but the Heat will need more out of Adebayo moving forward, especially while Tyler Herro (ankle) is sidelined.
