  • Luke Kornet C | SA

Spurs' Luke Kornet: Excels against Miami

Kornet logged nine points (4-6 FG, 1-2 FT), 11 rebounds, four assists, one steal and one block in 16 minutes of Wednesday's 112-107 preseason win over Miami.

After putting up 16 points (6-6 FG, 4-4 FT), four rebounds and one assist in 14 minutes during Monday's 119-88 preseason victory, Kornet kept it rolling Wednesday. The big takeaway from the preseason is that the Spurs have utilized Kornet alongside Victor Wembanyama for stretches, meaning he could see a few more minutes per game than initially projected.

  • Kings' Dylan Cardwell: Solid results from bench

Cardwell provided 12 points (6-7 FG, 0-2 FT), three rebounds, one assist and a blocked shot over 14 minutes in Wednesday's 130-122 preseason loss to the Raptors.

The Auburn product inked a two-way deal with the Kings, and although the 6-11 rookie will likely toil with the G League this season, he made a strong case for consideration as Domantas Sabonis' backup during Wednesday's loss. That role appears to be Drew Eubanks' to lose, with Dario Saric also waiting in the wings. Cardwell has the potential to be called up if the backups struggle with their support roles.

  • Kings' Domantas Sabonis: Scores team-high 19 points in loss

Sabonis supplied 19 points (7-10 FG, 5-6 FT, 0-2 3Pt), four rebounds, two blocked shots, an assist and a steal across 23 minutes in Wednesday's 130-122 preseason loss to the Raptors.

Sabonis' participation will be limited in the preseason, and it will be rare to see a four-rebound total once the regular season kicks into gear. A slight dip in assists hurt Sabonis' triple-double potential last season, but the talented center beat out Nikola Jokic in that category two seasons ago and is poised to have another excellent season as Sacramento's centerpiece. He averaged 19.1 points, 13.9 rebounds and 6.0 assists over 70 games last season.

  • Kel'el Ware C | MIA

Heat's Kel'el Ware: Keeps rolling in preseason

Ware generated 29 points (12-19 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 2-3 FT), 12 rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block across 26 minutes of Wednesday's 112-107 preseason loss to San Antonio.

Ware has come off the bench in each of Miami's three preseason games, with Nikola Jovic and Bam Adebayo filling the starting power forward and center slots. Despite his role with the second unit, Ware has been dominant. He's averaging 19.0 points and 11.3 rebounds per game. The 21-year-old started in 36 of 64 regular-season games as a rookie last season.

  • Celtics' Neemias Queta: Inactive Wednesday

Queta (rest) was on the inactive list for Wednesday's exhibition versus the Grizzlies.

It's unclear why Queta was rested for Boston's preseason opener, but he doesn't figure to be a significant part of the rotation. His next chance to play will come Friday in Toronto.

  • Jakob Poeltl C | TOR

Raptors' Jakob Poeltl: Won't play Wednesday

Poeltl (back) has been ruled out for Wednesday's preseason game against the Kings, Esfandiar Baraheni of The Athletic reports.

Poeltl will sit out a second straight preseason game while dealing with a back issue. He is also battling an illness. Brandon Ingram, Ochai Agbaji and Jonathan Mogbo will start in the frontcourt while the team's star big man is on the mend.

  • Raptors' Ulrich Chomche: Ruled out for Wednesday

Chomche (undisclosed) has been ruled out for Wednesday's exhibition versus Sacramento, Esfandiar Baraheni of The Athletic reports.

It remains unclear precisely what Chomche is dealing with, but it doesn't really matter. He'll be a non-factor in the rotation when the regular season begins, and can be safely ignored in all leagues.

  • Al Horford C | GS

Warriors' Al Horford: Will start vs. Portland

Horford will be in the starting lineup for Wednesday's preseason game against the Trail Blazers, Anthony Slater of The Athletic reports.

Horford joins Stephen Curry, Moses Moody, Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green in the first five. In Horford's preseason debut with Golden State on Sunday against the Lakers, the veteran center finished with three points, four rebounds, three assists, three blocks and one steal across 14 minutes.

  • Jock Landale C | ATL

Grizzlies' Jock Landale: To rest Wednesday

Landale isn't warming up for Wednesday's preseason game against the Celtics, and he'll likely get the night off for rest purposes, Michael Wallace of the Grizzlies' official site reports.

Landale was surprisingly absent from the starting lineup for Wednesday's contest, and it appears he'll get a rest day. Lawson Lovering will draw the start at center instead. Landale will likely return to action on Saturday against Atlanta.

  • Jock Landale C | ATL

Grizzlies' Jock Landale: Not starting Wednesday

Landale is not in the starting lineup for Wednesday's exhibition against the Celtics.

Lawson Lovering will draw the start in Landale's place, so it'll be interesting to see how many minutes Landale receives in this meaningless game. Landale could have sporadic value throughout the season when the Grizzlies rest their main guys, but when everyone is healthy, it's tough to see him being useful in standard settings.
