  • Grizzlies' Lawson Lovering: Drawing preseason start

Lovering is part of the starting lineup for Wednesday's preseason game against Boston.

Lovering, a 7-foot-1 undrafted free agent out of Utah, is battling for a spot on the Grizzlies roster. While he faces an uphill climb to do so, he'll have a chance to show his talents Wednesday. In all likelihood, Lovering will wind up playing for the G League's Memphis Hustle.

  • Joel Embiid C | PHI

76ers' Joel Embiid: Goes through practice

Embiid (knee) participated in Wednesday's practice, Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Wednesday's practice contained some five-on-five drills, so this is an encouraging update for the 76ers and for Embiid's prospective fantasy managers. He does not have a concrete timetable to return, but this is certainly a step in the right direction. For now, there's no word if Embiid will feature in the preseason.

  • Pacers' Isaiah Jackson: Struggles in starting role

Jackson finished with two points (0-2 FG, 2-2 FT) and three rebounds in nine minutes during Tuesday's 135-134 preseason win over the Timberwolves.

Jackson was given the starting nod, perhaps an indication that he will fill that role come Opening Night. He picked up three fouls in his first three minutes, contributing to the fact that he played just nine minutes in total. Meanwhile, Jay Huff logged 19 minutes off the bench, providing serviceable production on both ends of the floor. It appears as though the center rotation could be hard to nail down for fantasy managers, with Tony Bradley also in the mix.

  • Zach Collins C | CHI

Bulls' Zach Collins: Highly efficient in preseason win

Collins finished with 16 points (7-8 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-1 FT), two rebounds and three assists across 14 minutes during Tuesday's 118-117 preseason win over the Cavaliers.

Collins was one of five players off the bench to crack double digits in the scoring column. He was incredibly efficient, missing only one of his eight field-goal attempts, as he and Matas Buzelis helped pace their squad to a one-point win on the road in Cleveland.

  • Pacers' Isaiah Jackson: Will play and start vs. Minnesota

Jackson (Achilles) will be in the starting lineup during Tuesday's preseason game against the Timberwolves, Dustin Dopirak of The Indianapolis Star reports.

Jackson has been working his way back from tearing his Achilles tendon in November of the 2024-25 campaign. Although it's a tough injury to recover from and takes a long time to heal, he's clearly making strides to do so, playing as a starter in this preseason game.

  • Pacers' James Wiseman: Available Tuesday

Wiseman (Achilles) is available for Tuesday's preseason game against the Timberwolves, Dustin Dopirak of The Indianapolis Star reports.

Wiseman will return to game action for Indiana's preseason opener after tearing his left Achilles tendon in the 2024-25 regular-season opener. The No. 2 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft has an opportunity to carve out a meaningful role this season while competing for minutes with Isaiah Jackson, Jay Huff and Tony Bradley.

  • Naz Reid C | MIN

Timberwolves' Naz Reid: Starting again Tuesday

Reid will start Tuesday's preseason game against the Pacers.

With Julius Randle and Anthony Edwards resting, Reid started the Timberwolves' preseason opener against the Nuggets on Saturday and scored 10 points (4-6 FG, 2-2 3Pt) in 12 minutes. Edwards and Randle will be back in action Tuesday, but Jaden McDaniels (rest) is out, allowing Reid to draw another start.

  • Jazz's Kyle Filipowski: Sitting out Wednesday

Filipowski (back) won't play in Wednesday's preseason opener against the Rockets, Andy Larsen of The Salt Lake Tribune reports.

The Jazz will hold out Filipowski due to lower back injury management, which doesn't sound like a significant ailment. His next opportunity to suit up arrives Friday against the Spurs. Taylor Hendricks, Cody Williams and Brice Sensabaugh will all be candidates to take on an expanded role in the frontcourt Wednesday.

  • Jazz's Walker Kessler: Out for preseason opener

Kessler (shoulder) is out for Wednesday's preseason game against the Rockets, Andy Larsen of The Salt Lake Tribune reports.

Kessler is dealing with left shoulder bursitis, which will cause him to miss Utah's preseason opener. His next chance to play comes Friday in San Antonio. Jusuf Nurkic will be a candidate to fill in at center Wednesday, while the Jazz could also opt to take an extended look at two-way player Oscar Tshiebwe.

  • Maxi Kleber C | LAL

Lakers' Maxi Kleber: Does individual work Tuesday

Kleber (quadriceps) did some individual work Tuesday, Mark Medina of TheSportingTribune.com reports.

Kleber is continuing his recovery from a quadriceps injury that he suffered in practice last Tuesday. The veteran big man can be labeled questionable for Sunday's preseason game against the Warriors. Jaxson Hayes and Jarred Vanderbilt will remain candidates for an increased role until Kleber is cleared for action.
