Celtics' Al Horford: Doubtful to suit up Wednesday

Horford (toe) is doubtful for Wednesday's game against the Heat, Taylor Snow of the Celtics' official site reports.

The Celtics continue to manage Horford's availability ahead of the playoffs due to a left big toe sprain, and he isn't expected to suit up Wednesday. If the veteran big man is sidelined against Miami, Luke Kornet and Neemias Queta are candidates for an uptick in playing time.

  • Celtics' Kristaps Porzingis: Questionable for Wednesday

Porzingis is questionable for Wednesday's game against Miami due to return-from-illness reconditioning, Taylor Snow of the Celtics' official site reports.

The superstar big man recently faced an extended absence with a viral illness, and the Celtics continue to monitor his workload ahead of the playoffs. Al Horford (toe) is doubtful to play Wednesday, therefore Luke Kornet (illness), who is set to return against the Heat, could be needed to make a spot start down low if Boston holds Porzingis out.

  • Chet Holmgren PF | OKC

Thunder's Chet Holmgren: Minimal impact in win

Holmgren totaled five points (2-7 FG, 1-2 3Pt), six rebounds and three assists in Monday's 145-117 win over the Bulls.

Holmgren had a quiet outing Monday, scoring in single figures for his second consecutive game. The 22-year-old has been dealing with a hip injury that kept him out of the lineup Saturday, which may be impacting his performance. Of the Thunder's past 12 games, Holmgren has been active for nine contests, averaging 13.4 points and 8.0 rebounds per game.

  • Al Horford C | GS

Celtics' Al Horford: Carries Boston off bench in win

Horford chipped in 26 points (9-18 FG, 6-13 3Pt, 2-2 FT), eight rebounds and two assists across 37 minutes during Monday's 117-103 victory over the Grizzlies.

The Celtics had to work harder than expected to get past the Grizzlies and extend their winning run to nine games, and Horford played a pivotal role in the process with an excellent outing off the bench. This 26-point output represented a season-high mark for the veteran, and he's ending the regular season on a strong note after scoring in double digits in four of his last seven contests. That said, Horford is one of the most veteran players in the league, and considering the Celtics have already clinched a playoff berth, he might get some rest in a few games here and there to get him 100 percent healthy and rested for the postseason.

  • Naz Reid C | MIN

Timberwolves' Naz Reid: Receives one-game suspension

The NBA announced Tuesday that Reid has been issued a one-game suspension for his role in an on-court altercation that occurred in the second quarter of Sunday's 123-104 win over the Pistons.

Along with Reid, teammate Donte DiVincenzo will serve a one-game ban in Tuesday's game against the Nuggets, while the NBA suspended Detroit's Isaiah Stewart for two games and Ron Holland and Marcus Sasser for one game. While Reid is sidelined Tuesday, Luka Garza could enter the rotation as starting center Rudy Gobert's top backup, and starting power forward Julius Randle could also have a higher minutes floor.

  • Wizards' Richaun Holmes: Efficient off bench

Holmes tallied eight points (4-5 FG), eight rebounds, one steal and one block in 15 minutes in Monday's 120-94 loss to the Heat.

Holmes missed just one shot and made his presence felt on the glass Monday. The 31-year-old center has struggled to find consistent playing time lately, currently third on the depth chart behind Alex Sarr and Tristan Vukcevic. Holmes has appeared in four of the Wizards' last 10 games, averaging 6.8 points and 6.0 rebounds in 15.3 minutes during that stretch.

  • Bam Adebayo PF | MIA

Heat's Bam Adebayo: Double-doubles, fills stat sheet

Adebayo racked up 28 points (11-19 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 4-7 FT), 12 rebounds, five assists, one block and one steal over 31 minutes during Monday's 120-94 win over the Wizards.

Adebayo delivered an impressive performance Monday, showing a well-rounded offensive game while also limiting the impact of the Wizards' opposing frontcourt, including rookie Alex Sarr. This was Adebayo's second double-double over his last three appearances, and he ended March with averages of 20.1 points, 8.9 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.9 steals-plus-blocks combined.

  • Celtics' Kristaps Porzingis: Scores 19 in win

Porzingis totaled 19 points (7-14 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 2-3 FT), five rebounds and five assists in Monday's 117-103 win over the Grizzlies.

Porzingis was productive Monday, knocking down three three-pointers to help lead the Celtics to a double-digit victory. The one-time All-Star missed eight straight games from the end of February to the middle of March due to a lingering illness, but he has found his groove since returning. Playing in seven of the team's last eight contests, Porzingis is averaging 21.1 points and 7.7 rebounds on 54.6 percent shooting.

  • Jaxson Hayes C | LAL

Lakers' Jaxson Hayes: Held in check

Hayes registered three points (1-2 FG, 1-1 FT), three rebounds and one assist in 14 minutes during Monday's 104-98 victory over the Rockets.

The Lakers had a lot of success with their small-ball lineups, as Dorian Finney-Smith and Gabe Vincent combined for 40 points off the bench. Therefore, Hayes' minutes were held in check Monday. Over his last eight games, Hayes has been limited to deep-league value with averages of 8.3 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 0.5 blocks.

  • Mavericks' Daniel Gafford: Efficient from field in return

Gafford (knee) tallied 17 points (6-9 FG, 3-6 FT), seven rebounds and two assists in 19 minutes Monday in the Mavericks' 113-109 loss to the Nets.

The poor free-throw shooting made Gafford's performance less palatable in category-based leagues, but the veteran center otherwise delivered a strong outing in his return from a 21-game absence due to a Grade 3 MCL sprain. Gafford supplanted Kai Jones in the starting five in his return, but because Gafford was operating under a 20-minute restriction, the two ended up seeing similar playing time. The disparity could grow wider as Gafford becomes further removed from the injury, but he'll soon face a more formidable threat for playing time in Dereck Lively (ankle). Lively missed his 35th straight game Monday, but he was upgraded to questionable before being ruled out and could be ready to play as soon as Dallas' next game Wednesday versus Atlanta.
