  • Taj Gibson PF | MEM

Hornets' Taj Gibson: Muted role continues

Gibson had one assist in five minutes during Monday's 110-106 victory over the Jazz.

Gibson failed to score in the win, suiting up for just the fourth time in the past 12 games. Now in the twilight of his career, Gibson's role on the team is as a mentor and guide, as opposed to a productive on-court piece. This is reflected in his season averages of just 2.9 points and 3.3 rebounds in 11.0 minutes per game.

  • Magic's Wendell Carter: Ties season highs in defeat

Carter finished Monday's 96-87 loss to the Clippers with nine points (4-11 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT), four rebounds, three steals, two blocks and one assist over 31 minutes.

Carter stuffed the stat sheet on the defensive end Monday, tying his season highs in both blocks and steals during the loss. Additionally, the big man recorded multiple swipes and swats for the first time this season. However, the 25-year-old was inefficient from the field, and he has shot only 39.7 percent from the floor across his last eight outings.

  • Hornets' Mark Williams: Another double-double in win

Williams closed Monday's 110-106 victory over the Jazz with 18 points (8-9 FG, 2-2 FT), 13 rebounds and one assist over 34 minutes.

Williams returned to action after missing the previous game due to rest purposes. He ended the game with his third straight double-double, continuing his strong finish to the season. Although the Hornets' season has been far from positive, the fact Williams has been relatively healthy is a win for the organization. Assuming he remains in Charlotte, he should be locked in as a key piece moving forward.

  • Jazz's Kyle Filipowski: Double-doubles Monday

Filipowski closed with 14 points (6-16 FG, 2-8 3Pt), 13 rebounds and two assists across 33 minutes during Monday's 110-106 loss to the Hornets.

Filipowski recorded his second straight double-double, continuing what has been a productive late-season stretch. With John Collins and Lauri Markkanen missing a sizeable chunk of the past month, Filipowski has been thrust into a consistent role. In seven games over the past two weeks, he has averaged 14.9 points, 8.0 rebounds and 2.1 three-pointers in 27.2 minutes per game.

  • Celtics' Xavier Tillman: Falls flat in start

Tillman scored two points (0-5 FG, 0-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT) and added three rebounds and one steal across eight minutes in Monday's 117-103 loss to the Grizzlies.

Tillman has largely been outside of the Boston rotation this season, but he got the chance to make a rare start Monday due to Jaylen Brown (knee) sitting out. He was limited to two brief shifts at the beginning of both halves and didn't make much of an impact during his time on the court while missing all five of his field-goal attempts. Tillman is likely to drop back out of the rotation if Brown returns for Wednesday's game against the Heat.

  • Ivica Zubac C | IND

Clippers' Ivica Zubac: Monster double-double in victory

Zubac provided 18 points (7-10 FG, 4-5 FT), 20 rebounds and five assists in 38 minutes during Monday's 96-87 victory over Orlando.

Zubac recorded a game-high mark in rebounds en route to his 52nd double-double over 73 regular-season appearances. Additionally, the big man racked up at least 20 rebounds for the fourth time on the season. Zubac is having a career year on the offensive end and is on pace to average 16.5 points per game while shooting an efficient 62.1 percent from the floor. He has also scored double-digit points in 25 consecutive contests.

  • Pacers' Thomas Bryant: Balanced outing in starting lineup

Bryant supplied seven points (3-7 FG, 1-3 3Pt), seven rebounds, one assist and one block in 22 minutes during Monday's 111-109 victory over the Kings.

Bryant got the starting nod Monday due to the absence of Myles Turner (illness), contributing offensively and on the boards while hauling in a team-high-tying rebound total in a balanced showing. Bryant has hauled in seven or more rebounds in 10 outings this season, pairing that output with seven or more points in eight of those appearances.

  • Kings' Domantas Sabonis: Owns glass in double-double showing

Sabonis finished Monday's 111-109 loss to the Pacers with 25 points (11-19 FG, 3-6 FT), 16 rebounds and one steal in 40 minutes.

Sabonis held things down in the paint Monday, leading all players in rebounds while finishing second among Kings players in scoring in an impressive double-double performance. Sabonis has hauled in 15 or more boards in 24 outings this season, recording at least 25 points and 15 rebounds on five occasions.

  • Kai Jones C | DAL

Mavericks' Kai Jones: Shifting to bench

Jones will come off the bench Monday night against the Nets, Grant Afseth of DallasHoopsJournal.com reports.

Jones had started his team's last six matchups entering Monday, averaging 11.5 points, 7.8 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.0 blocks over this stretch, but he'll be deployed off the bench now that Daniel Gafford has been cleared to return. Gafford will be on a minutes limit in his first game back from a right MCL sprain, so there should still be opportunities for Jones to produce.

  • Mavericks' Daniel Gafford: Starting in return

Gafford (knee) will start in Monday's game against the Nets, Grant Afseth of DallasHoopsJournal.com reports.

Gafford will replace Kai Jones in the starting five in his return from a 21-game absence due to a right MCL sprain and will be restricted to 15-to-20 minutes, per Afseth. Prior to his injury, Gafford was averaging 12.3 points, 6.9 rebounds, 1.9 blocks and 1.4 assists in 21.9 minutes per gam over his 51 appearances.
