  • Rudy Gobert C | MIN

Timberwolves' Rudy Gobert: Struggles against promising rookie

Gobert posted 12 points (4-8 FG, 4-5 FT) and 10 rebounds over 34 minutes during Wednesday's 106-98 loss to Portland.

Gobert had his hands full against Donovan Clingan, who effectively ruled the day under the basket. The synergy between Gobert and Julius Randle continues to improve, but neither player could contend with Clingan's size. A few appearances at the charity stripe helped to pad Gobert's totals, but it was an disappointing evening overall.

  • Trail Blazers' Donovan Clingan: Double-doubles with eight blocks

Clingan chipped in 17 points (6-10 FG, 5-5 FT), 12 rebounds, one assist and eight blocks in 31 minutes during Wednesday's 106-98 victory over the Timberwolves.

With Deandre Ayton (finger) out again, Portland's 2024 first-round pick turned in a stellar performance. At 7-foot-2 and 282 pounds, Clingan is a challenge for any frontcourt, and he posted the huge number against Rudy Gobert and Julius Randle, arguably the best interior duo in the league. The UConn product dominated inside with eight blocked shots and was only two swats short of the rare point-rebound-block triple-double.

  • Spurs' Victor Wembanyama: Pours in career-high 50 points

Wembanyama contributed 50 points (18-29 FG, 8-16 3Pt, 6-9 FT), six rebounds, two assists, three blocks and one steal over 32 minutes during Wednesday's 139-130 win over the Wizards.

Wembanyama took advantage of a favorable matchup, torching the Wizards to the tune of 50 points, the first time he has reached that milestone. After a somber start to the season, Wembanyama has flicked the switch of late, putting up video-game numbers on both ends of the floor. At this point, his ceiling is unlimited.

  • Wizards' Jonas Valanciunas: Double-doubles off bench

Valanciunas had 16 points (6-12 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 4-4 FT), 13 rebounds, two assists and two blocks over 22 minutes during Wednesday's 139-130 loss to the Spurs.

Valanciunas racked up just his second double-double of the season, logging in excess of 20 minutes for the first time in the past three games. It's been an underwhelming start to his career in Washington, with rumors already swirling regarding his long-term future. As long as he is pushing 20 minutes per night, he should continue to be a nightly double-double threat.

  • Spurs' Victor Wembanyama: Drops career-high 50 points

Wembanyama finished with 50 points (18-29 FG, 8-16 3Pt, 6-9 FT), six rebounds, two assists, three blocks and one steal over 32 minutes during Wednesday's 139-130 win over Washington.

It was a career game for Wembanyama, who set highs in points -- besting his previous total of 40 -- and made three-pointers. The 7-foot-4 center's mix of length and guard skills makes him a one-of-a-kind fantasy asset, and he's rewarded fantasy managers who selected him first overall with averages of 22.3 points, 10.2 rebounds, 3.8 blocks and 1.3 steals per game on 47/34/87 shooting splits.

  • Goga Bitadze C | ORL

Magic's Goga Bitadze: Best game of year in double-double

Bitadze notched 12 points (6-7 FG), 12 rebounds, one assist, two blocks and one steal in 28 minutes during Wednesday's 94-90 win over the Pacers.

Bitadze put together his best performance of the season in Wednesday's victory, leading all players in rebounds while concluding as the lone Magic player with a double-double outing. Bitadze set a new season high in scoring while matching a season high in rebounds. He has now recorded a double-double in three contests this year, all of which have occurred over the last five outings.

  • Jay Huff C | IND

Grizzlies' Jay Huff: Making first career start

Huff is part of the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Lakers, Damichael Cole of The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports.

A 27-year-old journeyman and longtime G League standout, Huff will make his first career NBA start Wednesday. He's shined in a reserve role for the Grizzlies this season, averaging 10.4 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.9 blocks across 15.6 minutes per game. While he'll be part of the first unit, Huff is expected to play 20-to-25 minutes as Memphis will look to mix Zach Edey in at the five-spot.

  • Lakers' Anthony Davis: Cleared to face Grizzlies

Davis (foot) will play in Wednesday's game against the Grizzlies, Ryan Ward of LakersNation.com reports.

Davis was labeled probable due to left foot plantar fasciitis and, as expected, he's been given the green light for Wednesday's contest. He's averaging 31.2 points, 10.4 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 2.3 combined steals-plus-blocks across 35.1 minutes per game. Davis shouldn't be under any restrictions Wednesday.

  • Grizzlies' Brandon Clarke: Downgraded to out

Clarke (toe) won't play in Wednesday's game against the Lakers.

Clarke popped up on the injury report before Wednesday's contest due to toe soreness, and he'll wind up watching the game in street clothes. In his stead, Zach Edey and Jay Huff are likely to see an uptick in minutes. Clarke's next chance to play will come Friday at Golden State.

  • Jock Landale C | ATL

Rockets' Jock Landale: Good to go Wednesday

Landale (shoulder) will play in Wednesday's game against the Clippers.

After missing Monday's win over the Wizards with a strained left shoulder, Landale had been upgraded to probable for Wednesday's tilt before being cleared to play. With Steven Adams (knee) sitting out, Landale should serve as Alperen Sengun's primary backup.
