  • Timberwolves' Jaden McDaniels: Takes command in Game 6

McDaniels supplied 32 points (13-25 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 5-6 FT), 10 rebounds, three assists, one block and two steals in 45 minutes during Thursday's 110-98 victory over Denver in Game 6 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.

McDaniels stepped up in a big way to help the Timberwolves close out the series. He shot the basketball with confidence, especially down the stretch, as he drilled several key field goals in the waning minutes of the fourth quarter to secure the victory. McDaniels also recorded his second double-double of the series by grabbing double-digit boards. He'll continue to be a key piece of the puzzle in the next round against San Antonio, even if Anthony Edwards (knee) is cleared to return.

  • 76ers' Kelly Oubre: Gets back on track

Oubre logged 14 points (6-11 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT), nine rebounds, one assist, two blocks and two steals across 39 minutes during Thursday's 106-93 win over the Celtics in Game 6 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.

Oubre had been held to a combined six points between Game 4 and Game 5, but he found a way to make an impact on both ends in Game 6. The Kansas product also had a strong night on the boards, falling one rebound shy of a double-double. The Sixers would gladly take a similar performance from Oubre in Game 7 on Saturday as they look to advance to the next round.

  • Joel Embiid C | PHI

76ers' Joel Embiid: Flirts with triple-double

Embiid produced 19 points (6-18 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 6-7 FT), 10 rebounds, eight assists and one steal over 34 minutes during Thursday's 106-93 victory over the Celtics in Game 6 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.

Embiid once again found his name on the injury report leading up to Game 6, but he managed to appear in a third consecutive matchup and came through with a strong all-around performance. He's provided remarkable production after undergoing an appendectomy earlier in April, as he's averaging 26.0 points, 8.0 rebounds and 7.3 assists in three games so far this series.

  • Paul George SF | PHI

76ers' Paul George: Logs best performance of series

George closed Thursday's 106-93 victory over the Celtics in Game 6 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs with 23 points (8-17 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, three assists, one block and two steals across 40 minutes.

George put up a series-high 23 points with the help of five made triples. He's been scorching hot from beyond the arc in his last two appearances, hitting nine of 18 attempts during the brief stretch. George may need to be a key contributor again in Game 7 in order for the Sixers to advance to the next round.

  • Tyrese Maxey PG | PHI

76ers' Tyrese Maxey: Leads Sixers to Game 6 victory

Maxey accumulated 30 points (11-22 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 5-5 FT), two rebounds, five assists and two steals in 40 minutes during Thursday's 106-93 victory over the Celtics in Game 6 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.

Maxey led the charge for Philly on the offensive end by scoring 30 points for the second time this series. He was much more efficient from beyond the arc after going 3-for-10 from distance in Game 5, and he's now drilled three or more treys in five straight appearances. The Sixers will need more of the same from Maxey on Saturday in Game 7 to advance to the next round.

  • Jaylen Brown SF | BOS

Celtics' Jaylen Brown: Tough night in loss

Brown chipped in 18 points (7-17 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 2-6 FT), one rebound and two assists in 28 minutes during Thursday's 106-93 loss to the 76ers in Game 6 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.

Both Brown and Jayson Tatum had below-average nights by their standards, which resulted in Boston pulling its starters off the court early in the fourth quarter to rest up for Game 7. Brown was averaging 25.8 points through the first five games of the series entering Thursday's Game 6, and he'll have an opportunity to get back on track Saturday in Game 7.

  • Jayson Tatum PF | BOS

Celtics' Jayson Tatum: Adds 17 points in loss

Tatum provided 17 points (6-13 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 3-5 FT), 11 rebounds and three assists in 29 minutes during Thursday's 106-93 loss to Philadelphia in Game 6 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.

Tatum put together his second straight double-double but posted his worst offensive showing so far this series. There was some concern about Tatum's health after he briefly went to the locker room in the second half, but head coach Joe Mazzulla confirmed after the game that the forward went back to stretch and get treatment, and that he'll be fine for Game 7, per Bobby Krivitsky of Forbes.com.

Anunoby helped his team secure a series victory with a strong offensive performance. It was clear he was feeling good on both ends of the court, as he led the Knicks in scoring and steals while also posting a solid night on the glass. Anunoby averaged 21.5 points, 8.7 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.2 blocks across six games in the first round.

  • Timberwolves' Terrence Shannon: Drawing start in Game 6

Shannon is in the starting lineup for Game 6 of the Western Conference first-round series against the Nuggets on Thursday.

Shannon is the next man up after Ayo Dosunmu (calf) was ruled out for Thursday's matchup. Shannon and Bones Hyland should be in for a sizable uptick in minutes with Dosunmu, Anthony Edwards (knee) and Donte DiVincenzo (Achilles) all unavailable for Game 6.

  • Aaron Gordon PF | DEN

Nuggets' Aaron Gordon: Out for Game 6

Gordon (calf) is out for Thursday's Game 6 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs against the Timberwolves, Anthony Slater of ESPN.com reports.

Gordon attempted to warm up ahead of Thursday's clash, but he's not feeling healthy enough to give it a go. Spencer Jones stepped into the starting lineup in Gordon's place in Game 5 and should be considered the favorite to start again in Game 6.
