An Achilles injury resulted in Woods sitting out each of Seattle's past two games, but his ability to fully participate in practice Wednesday suggests that the nose tackle will be able to return New Year's Day against the Jets, barring any setbacks. Woods racked up 37 tackles, two sacks and a pass defense over 12 contests prior to suffering the injury.

Now, the 35-year-old seems to have taken a step forward by working his way back in a limited fashion Wednesday. Woods has recorded 19 tackles, one sack and a pass defended this season, and he'll have two more practices to improve his status before Sunday's game against the Chargers.

Woods recorded five tackles before leaving the game in the second half due to a knee injury. In his absence, Bryan Mone will be a strong candidate to see increased snaps the rest of the way.
