Barr had one total tackle and played 12 snaps on defense in Sunday's loss at Denver. Barr had only joined the Vikings the previous week after he was unsigned as a free agent. He could see his role increase with Jordan Hicks (shin) on injured reserve.

Minnesota signed Barr to its practice squad Monday, Dane Mizutani of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports. At age 31, Barr is returning to Minnesota after a one-season stint in Dallas. With Jordan Hicks recently having undergone surgery on his lower leg, Barr could be elevated as soon as Sunday at Denver.

Barr recorded 58 tackles (35 solos) including one sack, with one pass defended and two fumble recoveries, over 14 regular-season games in 2022. The 30-year-old linebacker missed three games in the middle of the season with a hamstring injury, but he didn't move the needle much when he was healthy, and his season high in a game was only seven tackles, a figure he reached three times. Barr will be a free agent again this offseason, and with younger options Damone Clark and Jabril Cox pushing for snaps in Dallas, the veteran may have to head elsewhere if he wants anything more than a rotational role in 2023.

Barr recorded seven tackles (four solo) and recovered a fumble in Saturday's 40-34 win over the Eagles. Barr's seven stops matched a season high, while his fumble recovery came deep in Philadelphia territory, just before the two-minute warning. The turnover allowed the Cowboys to take some extra time off the clock, and also lead to a field goal that padded their lead to 40-34. Barr will take the field again Thursday against the Titans.

Barr (hamstring) is questionable for Sunday's matchup against the Colts, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports. Barr was limited at each practice throughout Week 13 prep and is officially listed as questionable for Sunday's primetime matchup. Machota relayed that Trevon Diggs (illness), Michael Gallup (illness) and Jayron Kearse (shoulder) are all expected to play despite questionable designations, but he left Barr off that list, which suggests the veteran linebacker could be trending toward a fourth straight absence.
