The Lions signed Irvin to their practice squad Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. At age 36, Irvin doesn't have much to prove, so it would be surprising not to see him elevated to the active roster before long. In 11 games with Seattle in 2022, he compiled 28 total tackles including 3.5 sacks.

The Seahawks placed Irvin (torn ACL) on injured reserve Wednesday, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports. Irvin was quite effective as a pass rusher through the first two games, recording four QB pressures and three QB knockdowns. It's an unfortunate injury for the 32-year-old, and he'll look to rehab and potentially return for the 2021 season, although his contract with the Seahawks expires in March. Moving forward, rookie first-rounder Jordyn Brooks is expected to start at strong-side linebacker.

Irvin had three tackles (one solo) and a sack during Sunday's 29-21 loss to the Redskins. Irvin saw his highest snap share of the season (86 percent) and brought down the quarterback for the second straight contest. The veteran linebacker had 25 tackles (16 solo), 5.5 sacks and one forced fumble through nine games.

Irvin recorded four tackles (three solo) and a sack across 52 defensive snaps in Sunday's loss to the Saints. Irvin was able to take down the quarterback for the first time since Week 8, bringing his season sack total to 4.5. The veteran is playing in a little over 75 percent of the team's defensive snaps over the past four games.

Irvin (hamstring) is active for Sunday's matchup with Houston, Max Henson of the Panthers' official site reports. Irvin was questionable entering Sunday's game after missing the team's first-three games of the season. The linebacker will make his Panthers debut against the Texans, though he may be eased into action with a slightly reduced workload in his first game back.
