The Vikings signed McCain on Monday. McCain, who spent his 2023 campaign with the Giants, has found a new home in Minnesota. The nine-year veteran safety played just 19 defensive snaps across 10 appearances in 2023, so he'll likely be competing for a special-teams role ahead of the Vikings' 2024 season.

The veteran safety has appeared in seven games for New York this season, playing almost strictly on special teams and recording one total tackle.

McCain left Saturday's preseason game against the Jets and is being evaluated for a concussion, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports. McCain left the game after being on the receiving end of a blindside block by Jets wide receiver Randall Cobb. It's likely that the Giants will keep McCain out for the rest of the game out of an abundance of caution.
