Rams coach Sean McVay said Friday that Adams is unlikely to return for Week 17 against the Falcons on Monday, Dec. 29, Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com reports. While unlikely to contribute during the most important part of the fantasy season, Adams may be back in time for the crucial portion of his own team's campaign (the playoffs). Thursday's loss at Seattle may end up decreasing the incentive to rush Adams back for Week 18, depending on the outcome of various games for the Seahawks/Rams/49ers over the next couple of weeks.

Considering Adams didn't practice this week due to a lingering hamstring injury and a new knee issue and then was listed as doubtful for Week 16 action, this comes as no surprise. With Adams sidelined for the first time this season, Konata Mumpfield, Tutu Atwell, Jordan Whittington and Xavier Smith will be the wide receivers available to work alongside clear-cut top option Puka Nacua. Adams' next chance to suit up is Monday, Dec. 29 in Atlanta.

Tuesday's session marks the only on-field workout of the week for the Rams, who won't hold any traditional practices in advance of Thursday's game against the Seahawks. McVay said that he hasn't yet ruled out the veteran wideout, who will be given "every chance" to play in a game with huge implications for the NFC West title, per Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com. Adams will likely be a game-time decision ahead of the 8:15 p.m. EST kickoff.

Adams (hamstring) is considered week-to-week, placing his status in doubt for Thursday's game at Seattle, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Adams dealt with a hamstring issue in advance of each of the Rams' past two games, but he left Sunday's win against the Lions early after aggravating the issue. Coach Sean McVay told Stu Jackson of the team's official site afterward that Adams' status was uncertain for Week 16 but that he "certainly wouldn't rule him out quite yet." Rapoport's report adds a new layer to Adams' status, but the veteran wide receiver may need to practice in some capacity this week in order to suit up Thursday.
