Erickson signed with the Texans' practice squad Wednesday. Erickson played in the final three regular-season games for the Patriots this season, seeing work as a return man. He'll now latch on with the Texans, filling a hole on their practice squad left by Jared Wayne's elevation to the active roster.

Erickson reverted to New England's practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log. Erickson got his third straight elevation ahead of Sunday's Week 18 matchup against the Bills and saw action on offense for the first time this season, logging 14 offensive snaps without getting any targets. He also worked as the Patriots' primary return man, returning one kick for 16 yards and two punts for 26 yards. After catching 16 passes for 232 yards and one touchdown over eight games with the Chargers last year, Erickson was a free agent for most of the 2024 campaign, as he didn't latch on with New England's practice squad until mid-December.

New England elevated Erickson from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday, Chris Mason of The Springfield Republican reports. Erickson accumulated 90 kick return yards and 15 punt return yards during the Patriots' Week 17 loss to the Chargers. He's exclusively played on special teams over the past two weeks and will likely reprise that role during Sunday's regular-season finale against the Bills.

The Patriots elevated Erickson from their practice squad to the active roster Friday ahead of Saturday's matchup against the Chargers, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports. Erickson has been elevated for the second straight week since signing with the Patriots' practice squad Dec. 18. Last Sunday against Buffalo, he logged seven snaps, all of which came on special teams. Erickson figures to work primarily in that role again Sunday, as New England's wideout corps is relatively healthy.
