  • Nick Vigil: Let go by New York
    By RotoWire

The Jets released Vigil on Sunday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. Vigil signed with the Jets on Aug. 9 and competed for a depth linebacker role. He played in just four games for the Cardinals last season before being placed on injured reserve in October for a hamstring injury. The 2016 third-round pick registered 10 tackles (six solo) in three preseason games. He should provide a veteran presence for a team in need once he clears waivers.

  • Nick Vigil: Working out with New York
    By RotoWire

Vigil (hamstring) is working out with the Giants on Friday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. Vigil was placed on injured reserve by the Cardinals in October with a hamstring injury, but he's now healthy heading into the 2023 campaign. The linebacker appeared in four games with Arizona last season, compiling 13 tackles and a pass deflection.

  • Vigil (hamstring) has been ruled out for Week 5's matchup against the Eagles, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports. Vigil suffered a hamstring injury during Week 4's contest against the Panthers. The 2016 third-round pick was unable to practice all this week, so it's no surprise he's sitting Sunday's game out. While Zaven Collins remains the Cardinals' No. 1 left-inside linebacker, Ben Niemann may see his role increase with Vigil out.

  • Vigil has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game against the Panthers due to a hamstring injury, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports. Vigil logged two tackles (one solo) and a pass defense to begin Sunday's matchup, but he sustained a hamstring injury in the second quarter. Ben Niemann could see an uptick in playing time to close out the game.

  • Vigil had 15 tackles (nine solo) during Sunday's divisional loss to the Lions. Vigil played 100 percent of defensive snaps and took on an even more key role than usual with both Eric Kendricks (biceps) and Anthony Barr (knee) sidelined. Depending on the health of Minnesota's linebacker corps, Vigil could end up playing another every-down role versus the Steelers on Thursday.
