Maye (shoulder) signed a contract with the Dolphins on Monday, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. After spending five years in New York with the Jets, Maye suited up for 12 games with the Saints over the previous two seasons. His relatively low game total was due to the fact that he dealt with a lingering shoulder injury, but his addition to Miami's roster indicates his health is back up to par. The veteran free safety will look to make an impression going forward and earn a depth role in the Fins' secondary.

The Saints intend to release Maye (shoulder) at the start of the new league year, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports. Maye has struggled with injuries for the last three seasons -- two of which came with New Orleans -- during which he's combined to play in only 23 games. The move could save the Saints up to $7.2 million in cap space. Meanwhile, Maye will likely have to settle for a short-term deal in the hopes of proving he can stay on the field.

Maye (shoulder) logged 37 tackles, including one sack, and two interceptions across seven appearances during the 2023 campaign. Maye ended the season on IR with a shoulder injury after being hampered by issues throughout the campaign. As a result, the 30-year-old played seven or fewer games for the third time in the last six seasons. Maye is entering the final year of his three-year, $22.5 million deal with New Orleans, which could make him a cap casualty ahead of the 2024 regular season.

Maye (illness, hamstring) is active for Sunday's contest against the Colts, John Hendrix of SI.com reports. Maye did not participate in Friday's practice due to an illness, but he's healthy enough to go for Sunday's game alongside starting free safety Tyrann Mathieu (foot).

Maye (suspension) was reinstated from the reserve-suspended list Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Maye was suspended by the league for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy prior to Week 3. He is now set to return to his role as New Orleans' starting strong safety, which means Jordan Howden should return to a reserve role. Maye did not miss a snap through two weeks to start the season and accumulated 13 tackles (11 solo) to go along with an interception.
