Williams was released with no injury designation by the 49ers on Tuesday. The defensive tackle left the 49ers' preseason game against the Saints on Aug. 18 with a knee injury. The veteran is now free to sign with another team after recording 32 tackles for the Chargers in 2023.

Williams left in the first half of Sunday's game against the Saints due to a knee injury and is questionable to return, Jennifer Lee Chan of NBC Sports Bay Area reports. Williams was able to walk off the field under his own power after sustaining the injury. He signed with the 49ers on Wednesday after spending last season with the Chargers, finishing with 32 tackles (16 solo), including 1.0 sacks, and two fumble recoveries over 14 regular-season games. Williams is competing for a depth spot at defensive tackle behind starters Maliek Collins and Javon Hargrave.

Williams (shoulder) is inactive for Sunday's matchup with the Broncos. Williams began the week as a nonparticipant at practice and closed the week as a limited participant. Although he was trending in the right direction, the defensive tackle will ultimately sit out. In his absence, Morgan Fox is expected to get an opportunity to start on Los Angeles' interior defensive line.

Williams (shoulder) is active and will play Saturday against the Bills. The Chargers cut Sebastian Joseph-Day earlier this week, so expect Morgan Fox, Williams and Austin Johnson to all rotate as interior defenders against a rugged Bills rushing attack.

Williams (shoulder) is inactive for Thursday night's game against the Raiders. Williams started the week on the injury report, practiced fully Wednesday and then reappeared on the injury report Thursday. Morgan Fox and Scott Matlock should see more snaps in his absence.
