  • Bell recorded 55 total tackles, one forced fumble and two passes defended, including one interception, over 17 games in 2024. Bell opened the season as Cincinnati's top strong safety, logging 48 total tackles and two passes defended, including one interception, over the team's first 11 games. However, he struggled in coverage, allowing a 108.8 passer rating when targeted, and the Bengals' defense allowed an average of 26.9 points per game through Week 11. As a result, he was benched in favor of Jordan Battle following the team's Week 12 bye. After Battle took over as the starter, Bell recorded just seven total tackles over 80 defensive snaps. The veteran safety is now set to be an unrestricted free agent this offseason and will likely sign a one-year prove-it deal following his benching in 2024.

  • Bell had nine tackles (four solo) in the Bengals' 38-33 loss to the Commanders on Monday. Bell has played at least 57 defensive snaps in each of the first three games of the regular season, and his 23 tackles over that span is third-most on the Bengals behind Germaine Pratt and Logan Wilson (33 each). Bell will look to stay busy against Andy Dalton and the Panthers in Week 4.

  • Bell (back) is active for Monday night's game against the Commanders. Bell was listed as questionable on the injury report, but he's been cleared to play against Washington. The veteran safety enters Week 3 with 14 tackles (five solo) and has played 99 percent of the defensive snaps. He'll see a lot of Zach Ertz in coverage Monday.

  • Bengals' Vonn Bell: Doesn't practice Friday
    By RotoWire

Bell (back) did not participate in Friday's practice session, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports. Bell was limited Thursday, and his downgrade to a DNP on Friday is a step in the wrong direction in regards to his status for Monday's game against the Commanders. He'll have one more chance Saturday to practice in some capacity. Jordan Battle, Tycen Anderson and Mike Hilton would all be candidates to start at strong safety Monday if Bell is unable to suit up.

  • Bengals' Vonn Bell: Picks up injury
    By RotoWire

Bell (back) was limited during practice Thursday. Bell played all but one defensive snap in Sunday's loss to the Chiefs, so it's not exactly clear when he may have suffered the injury. Taking that into consideration, it's unlikely this will affect his status for Monday's game against the Commanders. However, his practice status Friday and Saturday will be worth monitoring.
