McNichols had three carries for five yards and one catch for one yard in a 26-18 loss to the Eagles on Thursday. McNichols played 17 percent of snaps on offense, putting him well behind fellow Washington running backs Brian Robinson (53 percent) and Austin Ekeler (52 percent). McNichols had a slightly larger role the previous two weeks with Robinson sidelined by a hamstring injury, but even then the Commanders got Chris Rodriguez involved and kept it as a three-man backfield. McNichols is unlikely to see more than a handful of touches Week 12 against Dallas.

McNichols carried the ball four times for seven yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 28-27 loss to the Steelers. McNichols operated as the No. 2 running back behind Austin Ekeler Sunday with Brian Robinson (hamstring) sidelined for the contest. Though he was limited to just four carries, the 28-year-old was able to find the end zone for the fourth time this season. Even if Robinson were to miss a third-straight game in Week 11, McNichols' limited usage makes him extremely difficult to trust for fantasy purposes in a matchup against Philadelphia.

We'll see if Brian Robinson Jr. (hamstring) can return in Week 11 at Philadelphia. He was listed as limited on Monday's estimated injury report for Thursday's game. If Robinson is out for the third game in a row, we'll continue to play the guessing game of which Washington running back to use in tandem with Austin Ekeler. I'll lean toward McNichols over Chris Rodriguez Jr. (2 percent rostered), but neither is worth trusting against the Eagles. It's a tough matchup, and Ekeler is the only one with guaranteed touches. That said, in deeper leagues, you might be stuck, so spend 1 percent of your remaining FAB on McNichols first and then Rodriguez if needed.

We need to see what happens with Brian Robinson Jr. (hamstring) heading into Week 10 against Pittsburgh, but he missed Week 9 against the Giants. Austin Ekeler was the lead running back for the Commanders, but McNichols and Chris Rodriguez Jr. (1 percent rostered) also saw action. Rodriguez was the better of the two, with 11 carries for 52 yards, but he played fewer snaps than McNichols (24-20), who had eight carries for 20 yards. Neither one had a target, and Rodriguez was sent back to the practice squad Monday. It's a situation to monitor, and Rodriguez might be the better Commanders running back to add instead of McNichols if Robinson is out again. You can speculate on McNichols or Rodriguez for 1 percent of your remaining FAB.

McNichols rushed once for minus-one yards in Sunday's 18-15 win over the Bears. McNichols played just seven percent of offensive snaps versus Chicago, his lowest total since Week 2. Brian Thomas (58 percent of snaps) and Austin Ekeler (47 percent of snaps) remain the clear top options in the Commanders' backfield, but if either misses time, McNichols will be first in line for added opportunities. From Week 4 to Week 7, McNichols rushed for at least 40 yards in three of four contests.
