Van Ginkel finished Sunday's 31-29 loss to the Lions with seven tackles (six solo), including 2.0 sacks, and one forced fumble. Van Ginkel's two sacks on Jared Goff combined for a loss of 23 yards Sunday, the second of which nearly led to a fumble recovery by the Vikings in the fourth quarter. Van Ginkel has played at least 53 defensive snaps in each of the last three games, and his 5.0 sacks on the year is tied with Jonathan Greenard and Pat Jones for most on the Vikings.

Van Ginkel recorded one tackle and an interception returned for a touchdown in Sunday's 23-17 win against the Jets. Van Ginkel dropped into coverage on a third down late in the first quarter and corralled a pass intended for Garrett Wilson with one hand, returning it 63 yards to the house to give the Vikings a 10-0 lead. It was his second pick-six of the year and the fourth touchdown of his career.

Van Ginkel played a major role in the Vikings' statement performance in Week 3, holding a high-powered Texans offense to just seven points. He was one of three Vikings to sack C.J. Stroud during Sunday's contest, while also leading the team in total tackles. Van Ginkel, a first-year Viking, appears to be fitting into defensive coordinator Brian Flores' scheme well through his first three games, and he's expected to continue wreaking havoc on opposing quarterbacks as the season progresses.

In Minnesota's Week 1 throttling of the Giants, the veteran edge rusher recorded four tackles (two solo), including one sack, and a pick-six interception.
